The rooms are standard, basic. The staff was kind, friendly, the nurses knowledgeable. My mom stayed there for a bit, she has since passed on. The one nurse I remember, I believe her name was "Inga", she had a special wicked sense of humor, she and my mom would laugh about the craziest things. My mom would say, "She gets me" Mom also being a nurse in her profession, she really took to Inge. She an a few staff members made my mom feel comfortable, and safe. I would like all the residents there to feel this type of happiness. Thank you Inga, For always putting a smile on my moms face.

LaBelle Health and Rehabilitation Center was not a secure site. So, that place did not fit my dad's needs and it's an older building. It's small. I think there's maybe 90 something beds. The staff member that gave the tour did an excellent job. He was very, very knowledgeable. He broke everything down to me and went over what it would cost for my dad to be in that facility. He was excellent. I think it can be upgraded to something. You could tell it's old furniture or wood. The activity area was very small, too, as well as the food area where they would eat. I was not very impressed with that one. They provided activities for them outside when I came in. I think they were either doing exercises or some type of game with them. I didn't see any other activities going on when they moved the residents within their room. I didn't see a lot of action going on.

Miss Miserable

First it is no longer Oak Brook but is now Orchid Cove. I would give it a 1 star rating if I could. The food is atrocious, mostly canned goods like chicken & dumplings, beef stew all canned. No fresh fruit or veggies but canned, under or over cooked meats, chicken, frozen battered fried fish, nothing bake or broiled. Lots of sandwiches for dinnr. Meals are usually cold. Had bad bacon yesterday. Breakfast, supposed to be biggest meal of the day are sparce. Rooms look somewhat clean but are not. For the most part the staff is nice, just not enough to respond properly to "residents" in a timely manner. Not enough supplies kept in stock. Activities include watching tv in morn. No amenities from the community I am aware of.

Oakbrook of Labelle is a skilled nursing facility, and it's fine. It's the best place for my mom, they're very friendly, and my mom likes the place. Her room is a studio type; they have shared rooms, and they have a lot of activities.
