Location, Location, Location Located in central Florida, OV residents escape the below-freezing temperatures, snow and ice of harsh winter months while relaxing in their outdoor pool and enjoying the abundance of other activities such as shopping, golfing, fishing, walking, and boating all year round. As you explore the community surrounding OV, you will discover many citrus groves, ranches, and fresh water lakes. Safety, Security and Peace of Mind Safety, security and peace of mind are important at OV, so we included an electronic-gated security entrance, perimeter fencing around the entire complex and yard lighting. In addition, each home has access to an emergency call system whereby residents can directly contact a nurse at The Oaks at Avon Nursing. Oaks Village is an affordable retirement community of Christian love and fellowship. Today OV features a beautifully landscaped, 24-acre complex of custom-built single family homes, duplexes, four-plexes, a clubhouse and an in-ground pool…and more. Compassionate Care As we age, some functions of independent living become more difficult to perform without assistance. Sometimes it is the lack of companionship, which leads to loneliness or boredom or the little things that seem to become a burden such as writing a letter, balancing a checkbook, baking cookies or shopping for Christmas gifts. Sometimes it is more basic such as maintaining a neat and clean home, planning meals or doing the laundry. The needs vary from person to person. Compassionate Care is a program designed to allow Oaks Village residents to maintain their independence in their own home for as long as possible. It focuses on quality of life needs and is individualized so each resident defines his or her own program. Program components include activities, chores, companionship, errands, laundry, light housekeeping, shopping and transportation. As the need arises, expansion is planned to include an emergency alert device system and home delivered meals. Personal care is available by third party contract. Oaks Village is not a licensed assisted living provider. Services provided are for support only and are designed to enhance the independent living experience. Friendship and Fellowship Owned and developed by World Gospel Mission of Marion, Indiana, OV opened in 1995 for retired missionaries and friends of WGM. Many residents of OV have a rich Christian heritage of serving mission fields around the world while others are simply just enjoying the fellowship of Christians with similar beliefs.
