"Lake Prince Woods was very nice. As a matter of fact, they were having a program and had invited someone I know to come, and they could bring a guest, so they took me with them. I think it was Veterans Day, and they had lunch for the veterans and stuff like that. The staff was very nice, they took us on a tour of the place, and they had all kinds of amenities. Some have their utilities and internet included, and they take bus rides going to some places. It’s top-notch also. "

"We viewed Karolwood Gardens Portsmouth on Saturday. It was an excellent tour. It was very clean, very nice. The staff was very, very nice. The dining area was very clean. They had bingo. They had Easter games. They had piano time, game time, and they did movies. The rooms had an excellent layout. They had three options. One I would call open concept, one had a two-part room where the bed would be on one side and like a little apartment on the other, and then a larger option with the same layout."

"Harbor’s Edge is a huge high-rise. It’s expensive and would be overwhelming for mother. It’s very nice inside, and the rooms are beautiful, but it would be too big for mom. The food was very nice. "

"The Chesapeake was very nice. If you have a car, parking seems to be a problem. It is very high end, and it is very costly. You have to pay something to get into it, and then you have a monthly fee. The amenities are very, very nice. It's probably one of the nicer ones around. I really couldn't find anything wrong with it; it's just very, very high end. The apartment sizes are fairly nice. They have a beauty shop inside. Their food was very, very good. They have a bus to take you to places. They have a lot of community activities. It's very, very big. A lot of the apartments are located quite a way from the eating areas and stuff like that, so it does take a lot of walking sometimes. That would be the only downside. The staff were very good. They have 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom units. They have a living room, efficiency kitchen, and nice-sized closets."

"Village at Wood’s Edge is a very nice place. It’s right next to the hospital in Franklin which makes it handy. They’re building up a large Alzheimer’s center that’s going to be completed next year. We visited it on a weekend and couldn’t find too many people that could talk to us about it. We ended up talking to a patient or two. It was very clean and established; it’s in the better part of Franklin. "

"We have toured the Warwick Forest. The place was really nice. The specific floor plan we were looking at has additional storage room. Their separate storage area is very large. We had a choice of the carpeting, wooden floor, and the paint color, and which was really very nice. They had a theater, which is a little bit unusual, as other places we visited did not have a theater. They had standard transportation to doctors' appointments, shopping centers, and to local artistic theater. We ate there after the tour was over. They had the typical meal plan where you get 30 meals per month per person. The only downside is they do not carry over at the end of the month, so it is a use-it or lose-it meal plan. They have two doctors who live on-site and will actually come to your apartment to see you, house call style, which would be very appropriate. However, you're not required to use their doctors. If you don't want to switch from your current doctor, that's fine with them, but it is available to you. "
