"The apartments that The Harborside have were very attractive. The size was to our liking. The kitchen had ovens and stoves. The number of residents who were walking around by themselves was a very large percentage. People were very friendly, too. The negative thing about it was the down payment for the apartment that we liked was a large amount of money, which would be returnable when we leave one way or another. The person who gave us a tour was very confident. Then we ate in the dining room, and the food was fine. The location is quite nice. It's very close to the North Shore. You can see the water from some of the windows. It's in walking distance to Bar Beach, which is a public beach area."

"I was at Oceanside Care Center for about a month. The care was great. The facility was spotless and the rehab people were great. Everything in that place was good. There are usually two people in each room separated by a curtain. There's a bathroom in each room with two closets. They have a cafeteria where they show movies, they have talks and educational films. The food was acceptable. It wasn't great, but compared to other rehabs, the food was pretty good. The staff worked very hard. It wasn't that comfortable to have a roommate, so that's the only thing, but you can't help that. They have a rehab gym. It's the best rehab in the area. I was in four different ones, and that was the best."

"The rooms are a bit dated but this place gives fantastic care, and my mom who was a fussy eater said the food was delicious, the nurses and administrative staff were very kind compassionate and friendly."

"Under One Roof/The Marvin was the most delightful place. It was a pleasant experience going there. A friend from church was there. I wasn't going to visit him necessarily, but I just happened to see him. The apartment I saw was very nice. It had a little living room, a generous-sized window, and a lot of light (that's my greatest need so I can look out and also work during the day). Then it had a small bedroom and a bathroom that was a converted shower. It was very small. There's a toilet and a teeny basin. I liked the kitchen but I needed a bigger bathroom to be comfortable. The feature that I found most delightful was that I could have my cat with me. Not many places allow people to have animals so I was glad about that. The feature that I thought was most unique was, that this was an old school building, and adjacent was a daycare center, all on the same property. So, the seniors and their children would have an opportunity, if they chose, to interact with each other once an hour each day. I thought that was great, mixing the two extremes of the age range. I was pleased with that. The rent was based on one's ability to pay and what was included with the price was security. I felt that there were a proper number of people on staff around the clock. So if somebody had a problem, there would be somebody to run to and in attendance to get help. They offered one meal a day and everybody would be at the dinner table if they chose to. There were two large living areas, one with a very large TV screen, and the other one was a much larger area, but a quiet one, sort of like the interior of a library. One could imagine being in a school since this was a school at one time that was made into apartments. The staff was very caring. My friend whom I visited from church said that the staff are wonderful. The facility was beautifully clean. It was old but it definitely had a nice fragrance. Not perfumed, but it had a clean smell and you could see people working who were emptying trash and running vacuums. It was several floors."

"The Mews is located at the heart of downtown Greenwich, within walking distance to the best shopping and dining area. It provides 3 hot meals a day with very good food, a large community room, library, ice cream freezer, and movie room. The resident rooms are well maintained with weekly service. The staff are amazingly nice and kind to all residents and visitors. My mother loved this facility ever since she moved in 2 years ago. We are grateful to the leadership and staff to keep the facility safe through out the COVID-19 pandemic. I highly rank it without any reservation. "

"The rooms are spacious, clean, and inviting. The Little Sisters and lay staff were most gracious in understanding the need to have my mother become a resident. Mom was very hesitant to move from her own home but soon adjusted to life with the Sisters and her new friends. While her life style at home was slowly declining, at Queen of Peace she developed an appetite, began to gain much needed weight, and took greater pride in her appearance. The residents enjoy all activities including field trips, daily mass and other religious programs, social gatherings, music, movies and the spacious outdoor gardens. Annual events with teenagers, friends, and family members are well planned by the activities director. Meals are nourishing, attractive and delicious, served with loving care. The greatest feature is that each Sister and staff member related to my Mom as if she were their own parent. She felt safe and loved by all. We could not have been happier and were privileged to have her at Queen of Peace. The expert care of the health needs of all residents, especially now during the Pandemic period, is outstanding. Family visits are provided in a safe environment through outdoor window contact in the visiting room. God bless all!"

"You need to be a millionaire to be at The Osborn. They had subacute rehab, independent living, and assisted living, all levels of care. It's a beautifully decorated environment that's immaculately clean. Everyone was smiling and cheerful and made you feel like they're happy that you're there. It's very cheery and upbeat. They have a gym, spa treatments, beauty parlor, very good amenities, restaurant-style dining, concierge, and take the people out to shows and doctors."

"I liked Willow Towers the most out of all the places I toured. I liked their comprehensive care - the whole spectrum of care. They had assisted living, a separate memory care building, as well as a nursing home. The staff was friendly and respectful. I thought that everything was very clean. It was cleaner than in a lot of the other places. The residents couldn't leave without people noticing, with the way the building was built. The building appeared to be well constructed compared to other places I've been to. And they offered some furnishings at cost, but they did."

"The lady who worked at New Rochelle Home was like a nun. Her personality was beautiful, and I felt such warmth from this person. It's like she truly cared about all the mentally ill people there, and she was dealing with a lot of them. They all knew her name. She was off the hook. I only met her and the one who ran the place, and both of them were very nice. But the place itself is so run down. It's like a warzone. The walls seem to have not been painted for a long time. Everything was old and very dark. You don't see light, and that's depressing in there. I don't recall seeing any windows. The hallways were dark, but the light that was shining was this lady. She treated people with respect and decency. I would rate this lady a 10. "

"We saw The Ambassador of Scarsdale. I liked the facility. I liked the staff, and the price was obviously right. I just thought it was clean, neat, organized and very professional. I only talked to two employees. The facility itself is beautiful. The outside is beautiful. They had a beautiful garden courtyard area. In the memory care unit, they have a TV room, activity room, and nice beautiful little lunch room."

The director of this residential community, Ahron Stark is not only an excellent, capable professional administrator but a compassionate, caring, creative human being as well. The latter is more important when it comes to the care of ones loved ones. I needed to communicate with Ahron quickly and efficiently and he made this possible! The way that problems were resolved was very much with a 21st century ethos. The facility itself is quite nice. And it is well located with access to supermarkets, public transport and religious services. My mother has a spacious room with a firm bed and access to her own bathroom, meals are served three times a day and there are many activities to do. My mother loves her room, the food and the community, medical care and staff! If you need to have your family member admitted at a community look no further than New Haven Manor! "
