"I had been homeless for almost 2 years staying in Pitino Shelter I have lived in Roosevelt House only since January 2012, but I couldn't think of a place any better. Before moving here, I had never lived alone and to say I was nervous would be a gross understatement. The staff here were friendly and understanding. The let me know there is someone available 24/7 in case of emergency. If I needed to talk to a staff person, they were there available to help...and if there is a problem, to get it corrected as quickly as possible. If there is a maintenance problem, they are there very shortly after you report it. There are activities in both buildings almost everyday if you want to take part in them or just watch. They distribute a calendar page every month with most of the activities on them. I would (and do) highly recomendn anyone to live here. "

Welcome to Davco Rest Home! Daily activities are provided for the residents of Davco. They include crafts, shopping, bowling, book discussions, attending sporting events and of course bingo. The facility features a Computer Learning Center with an instructor. There is also a movie theatre where the residents can watch movies and enjoy popcorn. Residents can attend the church of their choice. Many churches provide services and special entertainment at the facility as well. Working with the pharmacy and the residents doctor, our staff administers medications. Other healthcare services are available thru home health agencies. Doctors and psychiatrists see the residents on a regular basis and as needed. A mental health professional from River Valley Mental Health works with residents daily and has group and one-on-one sessions to assist with personal issues. Our facilities are inspected regularly by the state fire marshal, health department, and Office of the Inspector General. Fire and tornado drills are held on a monthly basis and the local City and county disaster services provide additional training. A barber and beautician come monthly to take care of the residents needs. A large screen television is located in the leisure room. Public transportation is available through GRITS, city buses, and taxi services. We also help when residents need transportation or assistance to doctors appointments. Financial aid is available for those that qualify. We provide a television and free cable for every room. Davco offers 24-hour care for people 30 years and older that need assistance with daily living. "The staff at Heritage Place was very friendly, and they seemed very caring about their residents. The residents were very friendly. They seemed to have adequate staffing, and they had activities going on for the residents. I spoke to a couple of people that live there and they're very happy about it. They all had positive remarks. The place was clean and we're very pleased. The room had a small kitchenette area, a small refrigerator, and a microwave. When you walk in the door, beyond that was a small place with a table. And then beyond that was a small living area for a small couch and a television. The bathroom was handicap accessible, and then there was a bedroom, which was an appropriate size for a queen size bed. They have a salon and an exercise room. The facility was very well-kept. I've been in touch with the staff for several weeks now, asking for follow-ups and updates on Dad, and everything about how he's doing in rehab. They're great."

"Beehive was close to home. They were really great. Everybody was really nice. It's an extremely clean place. It's new and only been like a couple of years. The rooms were really nice, too. The staff was great and everybody was really friendly and attentive to my aunt. The food was delicious. They have crafts, storytelling, and they have quite a bit of stuff to keep the residents busy. "My sister moved into Dogwood Retreat and it's very good so far. They are kind, caring, professional, clean, and trustworthy. They do what they say they're going to do and you can count on them to remind the residents to take their medication on time, they don't steal, and they don't bully. The activities inside the facility are a five."
