"I went to Beehive Homes of Brandenburg. The lady we talked to about the home was very informative about everything, and she was just so warm and friendly that I said, " I want to move in here." This is so nice. And everybody we met was just so warm and friendly. I knew that my mother-in-law would be happy there, because I was happy visiting. And the manager was just like I knew her my whole life. She's just amazing. I like the home setting that they had. They have dinner and recreation together. When we walked in there, they were all sitting around in their chairs, just socializing like they were at home, visiting family. It was almost like it was a family setting, and it was just so warm. They were independent, walking around; she was supervising, but they were walking. She sat outside with them on the porch. Some of the ladies were walking; people were bringing their family members home from doctor's appointments, and she was just interacting. There was a dining area; it was just like a home setting. It was very clean. It didn't even have an odor. I met one of the nurses there, and she was just as warm and gave us information about Alzheimer's and what to expect. I not only learned about the facility, but I also learned about how and why my mother-in-law was doing what she's doing. And it was just very helpful."

"After making it nearly 70 years living independently my great-grandmother finally has had to move to a community that can better care for her. She moved into Oakwood about 3 years ago. The first time I went to visit her I didn't exactly expect to be wow'ed by her living conditions. Most similar places I've been in our area seem to be little more then places to house the sick and dying. The first thing I noticed in Oakwood was the feeling that I was in more of a community instead of a hospital type setting. The main lobby is nicely decorated, the grounds are well kept, and there seemed to be plenty of commons areas with people actually using them playing cards. I didn't find my grandmother bed-ridden in her room but had to use one of the helpful employees roaming the halls to direct me to an area where she and some of her new friends were playing cards. From numerous other wonderful visits I can say that Oakwood Health Campus is definitely leagues above pretty much every other assisted living community in this area. Everything from the staff to the amenities is top notch. "

"I toured Cedarhurst of Owensboro. I was impressed with the overall visual pleasantness of the place. It's fairly new and isn't rundown at all, but it's well-kept and well-built. The units are very, very sharp. The staff is very professional and knowledgeable. It was a good feeling, pleasant people. I looked over the menu and their procedure and policies, and I was pleased with that."

"My sister lived at One Park Place which is an assisted living place in Owensboro. She lived there for 15 years, and it was excellent. The atmosphere is excellent. The food was really good. It's in a really nice setting. It was an older building, but it's beautiful. It's fairly large and well-kept. They serve meals, and they clean your apartment. They have activities to get the residents involved in if you would like. It's just a really good place to live. They had lots of different varieties of activities for anyone that would be interested. They had music. They brought people in to play instruments. They had a nice piano in the lobby for any resident that wanted to play. There was a lady there that's always at the piano playing beautiful music. They had a game area. They had a huge TV, where you could have movies. They would bring people in from outside to teach like basket-making, flower arrangements, or just about anything for everybody."

"The Roosevelt House in Owensboro, KY is where my grandma has lived for the past 6 years. It is located on Fredrica Street. The Roosevelt House is a very nice assisted living facility. There are several events for the residents to partake in located in the commons area on the ground floor. These events occur about once or twice a week. There are even bus trips available for the senior citizens to ride over to nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and even the mall to have a little leisure time. The staff here is very courteous, helpful, and understanding, they do a fantastic job taking care of all of the residents. The amenities here are fairly nice, but could be better. The rooms are basically little apartments, with each containing a tiny kitchen area, a living room, bedroom, and bathroom. There is also a commons area with a big screen television located on the ground floor, as well as a laundry room, vending room, and a chapel. This home even offers residents storage bins down in the basement, completely free of charge. I think the Roosevelt House is a fantastic place to stay, and I know that my grandma is enjoying her time spent there. "
