"My mother is in LaGrange Nursing & Rehab Center. I wish it was a little cleaner, but it's OK. The nurses are great and the staff is great. Everybody's great. It's just an old facility. It needs more bathrooms. She's been in a room with another lady. They have two beds. Four patients share one bathroom and it is a little aggravating sometimes, but her roommate is great. I have tasted some of the food. The barbecue sandwich was good. That's all I have tasted so far. She was in rehab, but now we have moved her over to full-time residency."

"The director of Poplar Creek Senior Care was very knowledgeable and personable. He took time to explain everything. He was just a super nice guy. It's kind of a small sort of homey place. It had a nice atmosphere. The common areas, living room areas, and visiting areas are very homey. They had traditional furnishing. It did not have any odor. It smelled nice. It was a pleasant atmosphere. We looked at some rooms. They don't have any availability currently, so the rooms that we peeked in were occupied. We got a good sense of the layout of the rooms, the size, and how much you could bring in there. Everybody was very friendly, welcoming, pleasant, and personable."

"We moved into LaGrange Heritage Senior Living. The curbs were too high. You couldn't get up the curbs. There was a bump into the garage. You had to step up to get into the apartment, and the bathrooms were too small for seniors. You could not get a walker and an electric chair in it. They're just not senior-made. The cabinets are too high, the bathroom vanity is too low and too small, and who would give a handicapped place a bathtub for old people? Old people can't get in a bathtub. The staff lied. I paid monthly for cable TV and was there for nine months and never got it. I asked them to repaint the walls. Somebody had touched up the wrong color paint. I asked them, but they never did it. They lied and said it would be done the following week. They lied a lot and never did anything for you that you asked them to. Three neighbors told me the same story. They had been there from the beginning and still didn't have cable TV, but they paid for it. It's a big facility, and their offices and the dining room were very clean."

"My husband has been in Florence Hand Home for over three weeks now. It's very highly recommended by people who have been there, and it's only four miles from my house. It's immaculately clean. The service is wonderful. The people there are so loving and caring. They got a good Southern cook. The food is great. The first day we went there, I was putting my husband back in the truck, and a lady came out and she said, "Oh, is he gonna come here? My mom's been here, my aunt's been there, my sister's here now, you're gonna love this place." How many recommendations like that do you get from a nursing home? He gets physical therapy and speech therapy. It's a fantastic place. My girlfriend has known six people who have been there, and they came back with rave reviews. It's really good. They're the most loving, caring, sweetest people. My husband fell out of bed, and every time he falls out of bed, they have to call and tell me, and the first time he did, the nurse called me, and her last sentence to me was, "Thank you for letting me take care of him." He's in a wonderful place. He's very happy being there. There are activities. There are lots of things going on if he chooses to take part in them. I can't say enough good things about the place. I haven't met a bad person yet. If I go in there at noon, they will serve me lunch along with him, and we have lunch together, or sometimes we have dinner together. The food is always good. I ask him what he has for breakfast, and he tells me, "I've had scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast this morning. They've got some good food here." The floor in the hallways is shiny and smooth. It's like they've waxed it. It's not slippery or anything, but it's polished. There isn't a speck of dust or cobweb or anything anywhere. It's always really clean. I was there one day with my husband for about two hours, and two different ladies came in and cleaned his room at two different times. They were even dusting off the top of the door. I walked in one day and they were having root beer floats right there in the lobby. They have bingo, singing, music, and crafts. There's a whole room full of people doing whatever it is they're doing in there. They have a lot of activities that are very well attended. They help him dress if he needs it, shower him, and give him sponge baths. It's a wonderful place to be. It is the cleanest, well-cared-for, politest facility that I've ever seen. I go every day, all hours of the day, and it's always the same."

"Amberwood Apartments is for 55 and older. I like that it's close to shopping. The staff is not good. I was trying to get some paperwork, but the office is not giving it to me. The structure and cleanliness of the building are alright. They have a conference room. Everybody does their own thing here. I'm not paying them much for rent. They go by income."

"I needed rehabilitation after a hip replacement and chose Twin Fountains because it is close to my home. I did not know what to expect. I was so pleased with my choice. My days were controlled by my therapy schedule so I did not get to participate in a lot of the activities. When I could the activities were very inclusive. I attended the July birthday party which included cupcakes and gifts for the residents and patients that were celebrating birthdays. Each week there were movies and shopping outings to enjoy. I was not able to go but I sent a short shopping list with a resident. I found the staff to be very approachable and warm and professional. If the day comes that I need residential services, I am seriously considering Twin Fountains. I was able to enjoy the outdoor gardens with the ponds. I miss everyone and plan to return to visit. I want to work on a jigsaw puzzle with my friends. "

"We like Lakewood Senior Living of Valley a lot. The staff were accommodating and helpful. Everything has been good so far. Mom’s room is small but nice. The staff were really friendly and they were doing a good job. The entire facility is clean and neat. "

"Valley Park Manor is a nice place. They had medical staff on site. The assisted living room we saw was clean and nice, had a small refrigerator, a little microwave, a shower, full bath, and a place for a bed. You can also put a TV in there. The staff was very friendly and polite."

"I would have wanted to know how truly good the people are that work there and how hard they work 24/7 . The people that work at the nursing home where my mother resides are really hard working people and they have so much love and compasion for each resident. And they keep me informed with every change that takes place with my mother. "

"Our experience with Carrolton Manor has been good so far. The single rooms are pretty nice and spacious, the furniture is already pre-furnished, and they have a television and the basics. It looks pretty good. The staff is very kind and attentive, and caring. They do laundry, a little bit of grooming like haircuts and shaves, and they also cut his nails. They also have physical therapy, and they have a pretty good security check. They also have a resident doctor that comes in to do checkups. It's very clean, but sometimes things happen and there's an odor. Like most other nursing homes, the pricing is inflated, and I wish it were a little bit cheaper. So unless you have some kind of assistance, it could be tough."
