My aunt stayed at Hanson Hospice Center. It wasn't really the appropriate place for her, but that's where we ended up at first. It was in Stevensville, Michigan, and it's a beautiful facility. I had some difficulty dealing with some of the staff, as far as needing guidance from them, and they didn't follow through. We first had in-home hospice, and then we moved her into the hospice house. We had expectations about how things would happen based on what they told us, but it didn't happen the way they said it would, so it was a little bit misguided, but I know they mean well. The care they gave was excellent. It just wasn't appropriate for her at the age she was in. It was an entry into a place that they thought was going to be a workable situation, but it turned out not to be. I would give the management staff a three, and the nursing staff a five. Her room was very clean. It was in a beautiful setting in the woods. It was very up to date, and they were very accommodating.
