My dad was at Hospice of Southern Kentucky two years ago. It was wonderful. It was just great to be able to have people come in and say their last goodbyes and just visit with him in a comfortable room without the beeping and stuff like at the hospital. They were just so caring and wonderful. I can't say enough good things about that place. It was a good place. He was there for two weeks. It was very clean and they were just super friendly people, always checking on you if you need anything. They had a breakroom kind of a playroom for children. I had a 3-year-old at the time, and they had a little playroom set up for toddlers that might be visiting with their families there. They had a fully stocked refrigerator kind of area where local churches would come and donate food and put it in the fridge for you, so you had something to eat while you were there and you didn't have to worry about all that kind of thing while you're going through that process. They didn't have meals like cooked meals or heated meals there. It was just the fridge and stuff. We weren't there a long time, but I remember some people coming in and singing some gospel music or something. We were mostly in the room with him. It's a quiet place, but they had plenty of seating for people if they couldn't go in the room and stuff like that, like couches. They had a separate bathroom if you wanted to go out.

Once our mother was determined terminal, we brought her home with Hospice. It was one of my mother's dying wishes that she be home. The nurses and staff with Hospice that came to my mother's aid were were very helpful and appreciated. When the end came, they were there to help all my siblings cope. I love them for their care and understanding.

They were always there to answer every question. I don't know what we would have done without them.
