VITAS Hospice

I'm using VITAS Hospice for my mother. They've been wonderful. They send in CNA twice a week and a nurse comes in once a week. Then we have a PA that comes in once a month, and the chaplain comes as often as we need her. They have some social workers. They've suggested other things like hospice help if we need a break for a few days, but they've been wonderful to work with. They've been taking great care of my mother. They make sure her blood pressure is good. They check all that stuff. They mentally talk to her to see where her cognitive thinking is.

My mom has been diagnosed with cancer and she is now in hospice called VITAS Hospice. She's gone to the point where she can no longer walk, and she's bedridden. They're maintaining her, and she is just 100 percent thrilled with the service that she's getting there. She said they're very attentive. She asked about food and they are bending over backwards to give her any type of food that she wants. Everytime I go to nurses and I ask about her medical status, like how her night was and that type of stuff, they're right on top of everything. I cannot give them a higher rating than possible. So far, they have just been absolutely fantastic. The staff members are very attentive. When she hits the button, they're right there. They're very, very compassionate. I feel that they actually care about the patients. If I have to go somewhere, that would be the place I want to go.
