"The caregivers are with my sister 14 hours each day providing meals and assisting with mobility, bathing and daily routines. I contacted the Yucaipa office of Right at Home when I realized that I was unable to provide adequate care for my sister who was in failing health. The caregivers reversed the deteriorating situation. In six weeks, my sister is gaining weight and mobility, is more engaged with her surroundings and is looking to return to some of her previous activities. Full credit goes to the Right at Home staff who are knowledgeable, through and patient but persistent."

"I used Home Instead - Redlands, CA. I'm blind and I was really impressed as to how the young lady got me around. She was there for me whenever I needed her assistance or anything, whether it be to go in one of my rooms at my home or whether it was to go and get me something out of a refrigerator to eat. I think that the lady of her magnitude should be recognized. I was very, very much satisfied with all that she did in assisting me because I am limited on how I could get about, whether it be in the house or outside. Her name is Stephanie. I was impressed with how she took care of me, how she guided me, how she explained different avenues in my home that I have forgotten about and led me in the right direction. There was so much caring that she showed me even though I can't see. I could feel the kindness and the love that this woman gives all of her patients."

"Gentiva Hospice of Victorville was a lifesaver. I did not know Medi-care would cover it after mom did not fill out her yearly Medi-Cal paperwork and got canceled. Gentiva got our call and came to help within 24 hours. Their nurses are compassionate and loving to the patient. My mom really liked her nurse and only said wonderful things about her. We got the hospital bed, oxygen, diapers, bed baths and they took over ordering her medications, one less thing to worry about. When I had to cancel their services to move her to a facility that did not allow hospice care, they got the termination letter to me within 15 minutes so I could move her to a hospital for 24 hour care we could no longer give. I am completely pleased with Gentiva of Victorville. They even had religious help and a social worker. I am so happy they came to help in our time of need and recommend them for any loved family member, or anyone Sandy M. "

"My husband is using Community Hospice of Victor Valley, and I am very pleased with the team that they have for us. Each one of the individuals is very pleasant, very thorough, and very knowledgeable. They come in to our home. They have a social worker that comes when I call or comes by at least once a week. One lady gives my husband a bath three times a week. "

"Gloria's In Home Services seems to be working out for my father right now. They're absolutely awesome. It's been the best experience. He really likes the gal who mainly takes care of him and the other people as well. I'm so grateful. My friend's parents also used their service. They provide light housekeeping, help with bathroom issues, showering, some light cooking, and friendship. Communication with the agency is awesome. They lowered the price when I added more hours to make it slightly more affordable."

The First Step: A Home Care Assessment How do you know when your loved one needs help? If your loved one has lost weight, has an unkempt appearance, is living in a house full of clutter, or is exhibiting mood swings, those are warning signs. While these signs could indicate serious problems, they also may indicate that your loved one simply needs some extra help. For example, weight loss might not indicate an illness; it could just mean that your loved one is uncomfortable driving, hasn't been able to get groceries or is not remembering to eat. If you suspect your loved one needs help, The Personal Touch, LLC can make a professional assessment. We'll visit your loved one and determine what type of assistance they may need. Our goal is to make care-giving easier for you and your family. Our no-cost home care assessment is the first step, and we'll help you decide on the next step.

"From the minute the door opens at Hillsong Senior Living, there's a big sign that says 'Welcome' and there's a ramp for wheelchairs as you're walking in. Then when you come in, it's open. You see a big kitchen that is very clean, modern, and up to date, and the owner has solar panels so that my cousin has air conditioning that is always at the proper temperature. Nobody is sweating or uncomfortable. There's a nice living room and then windows that look out onto a covered patio that had furniture and grass. So, it was pretty to look out on. There were several huge leather chairs that recline and a big television too. My cousin is there for hospice care. Her room is large, she is in a hospital bed, and there's a bathroom that was adjacent to her. All questions that we had to ask were answered by the owner who was there the whole time, Carina. We saw her move my cousin correctly so she doesn't get bedsores. And just her whole attitude was caring and kind. We could hear people talking low, but there were no outbursts or anything. It was peaceful and very clean. She walked us through the kitchen, the living room, and into the backyard. Her husband is a firefighter and I think he also helps keep the place nice. It was very homelike and very welcoming. They prepare the food and they do ask about their dislikes or if somebody is allergic to something. So, it didn't look like they just threw some packaged stuff at them. They had all kinds of activities that would be appropriate if you were still able to do that. She said that relatives or friends are welcome any time. You didn't have to call and say, "We're going to be here between this hour and this hour." Carina said "We are transparent and the families are welcome." That to me said they're not worried about cleanliness, et cetera, because they have it under control."

"I hired TLC for my parents, and it's been going OK, same as the caregiver. I've had them for two weeks now. The value is fair. I needed help and they were there to help me and so far, it's been going pretty well. I'm learning along with them."

"We have been using Home Care Friend for my nephew for about a month now. I don't really need most of the serivces they offer at this point. He is able to dress himself and feed himself. It is mostly a cognitive issue. The person just helps him with very minor things, like they make dinner for him and might help him put a DVD in. They watch over him. They may help him with meds, but it depends on when his sister gets back from work. It is more of companionship. It is the same care giver that comes for about 5 hours, 3-4 days a week. Working with them is fine. There was no problem. I guess the pricing is good, and the caregiver is very good."

"I'm currently using Citrus Senior Care - Redlands, CA. They provide caregiving services. They've been pretty good. The owner is still hiring a lot of new people. I came home from rehab and they helped me clean my house, and that's the owner and his assistant. Yesterday, he helped me get to the doctor's office, met me there to get up into the office, stayed with me, and helped get me back to transportation. So what can I say about the owner doing something like that? I'm getting the value plus extra with them helping me. They did this out of the goodness of their heart. They visited me when I was in the hospital. It's the best service you can ever imagine. They're there for you, and they go above and beyond. They call and see how you are doing. They always follow up. It's the best decision I could have made."

"They were referred to me by the case manager that took care of my sister. I initially called them and a couple of other agencies. We eventually went with Independence Assistance after my sister was released from the rehab center. They're top notch! They're absolutely on top of everything. I had no problems with them in any way. They did exactly what they said they would do and that's take care of my sister full time. The caregivers were very warm and were very concerned. They took care of all of my sister's needs. Sharon and Lily were calling me to make sure everything was going smoothly and that everything was taken care of. So, I really have no complaints whatsoever. She was with them for a little over 2 months before she passed away. "
