Crest View Nursing Home

My Grandma was at Crest View in New Lisbon and she still has nightmares from her short stay. I won't go into the details here but I am outraged by what she told me that she endured and I will be contacting Crest View for answers! I also may be contacting the State of Wisconsin for an investigation. I wanted to put a warning out to others that may be considering Crest View for a loved one. My grandma is very loving and easy going. She is elderly yet mentally very sharp. She was appalled with how she and other elders were treated but too afraid to say anything until now. She did say that the physical therapists were wonderful and they were the only bright spot in her day, but most of the other staff members were awful. It’s a nice building but it’s what’s inside of the building that counts. The website states: Every patient has the right to be treated with dignity and to considerate and respectful care. Crest View was paid very well to give her care, but they were neglectful instead. Perhaps they should provide each patient with the rights that they say they promote. They could start with offering staff members training on empathy and compassion. Unfortunately some people don’t already have either.

I had a family member that spent approximately eight weeks at the Crestview Nursing Home facility in New Lisbon, Wisconsin (http://www.milebluff.com/CrestView.htm) for rehabilitation purposes after a severe stroke. Considering the circumstances, I couldn't have been more pleased with this facility. From a visitors perspective, the atmosphere of the facility is very relaxed. set back from any major roads, the location is quiet and tranquil. When you walk inside, there is market scenery complete with a coffee area, small antique shop, and small library room of books and a computer. In regards to their quality of care, again I could not have been happier. They treated my family member with the utmost care and were very careful to adhere to both his diet and exercise restrictions. The Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists that were provided were extremely professional, showed how much they cared, and encouraged family members to participate in rehabilitation exercises. We were also able to meet with other residents that were older and stayed there as their new current assisted facility residence, and they were all happy with Crestview as well. Overall, I was extremely impressed, and would recommend this facility to anyone in the area interested in either assisted living or rehabilitation services.
