"I was very impressed with Oak Hill Place and I wish that we could have put my mother-in-law there. I think she would drive there and there's medical staff on-site, and I like that. The apartments were very nice and roomy. The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions; they were accommodating. We saw the dining room which was spacious, nice, and clean. I think they had a sunroom. I like the appearance of the facility, I was impressed. It was quiet and very spacious, she could have gotten around well."

"Mom went to Nicolas County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for rehab. The food is disgusting often times it is left in "warming" racks for over 2 hours. They do not follow dietary needs of residents. Food is over cooked, salty and fatty! Mom doesn't complain even though she has diarrhea from eating their food. (Gave me diarrhea too) Worst of all their social workers have unduly influenced her that this is where she needs to be. They have stolen Mom from me. They're really good at it. Mom appeared drugged the day before she was set to go home and was lied to that she wouldn't be able to come back if she left. Other people near the home report that their loved ones have stayed for just the same reasons. They delay medical treatment and let their residents suffer longer than needed. Larry the Social worker and several others at the home commented that they just don't get tests done as quick as in other cities. "

"My aunt was at Fayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. They were nice there. She was happy with the level of care she got. This facility was smaller and they were the first one that opened up and had a bed. It was laid out nicely, but the rooms were not large. There were two people in the room at the time, but they were fine. She enjoyed her meals there. They had a calendar that had a list of activities, and they had little activities in their activity room. They had a workout room and a physical therapy room."

"My father-in-law was placed in a nursing and rehab facility after his hip replacement. The plan was to rehab him enough after surgery so that he could go home and be able to take care of himself safely. He received daily physical therapy along with assistance with his activities of daily living. He was there a little longer than estimated but had done well. He was able to walk over a hundred feet without his wheel-chair and was taught how to do his exercises independently after he was discharged. His room was always kept neat and he was given several meals and snacks to assist in his weight gain. They never lost any of his laundry and tried to assist with apartment placement upon his discharge. The family had to struggle to find an apartment to accommodate his handicap. I feel the facility could have done a better job in placing him somewhere that met his needs. He ended up moving in with his ex-wife in turn moved out and has been staying with family. I do not agree that the facility allowed him to venture out off property with people due to this aiding in his drinking habit. I feel they should have had more strict rules since he was only there for a short time. It was not safe for him to be allowed to go off property in his condition. "
