The place has nice people working there. But don't expect them to be able to get a patient to a doctor appt. They rely on only one source for transportation, and if that guy just happens to not be available, then their only solution is to cancel and reschedule appointments. They had to cancel my mother's long-awaited surgery because there was no transport. I would have tried to find alternative transportation (although that is their responsibility under the insurance that is paying for the stay, not mine) but that would require more than 5 minutes of notice.

My husband is at Radford Health and Rehab. They're doing such a great job, and they're watching him. They discovered that he's very weak, but he's trying to get out of bed, so they put floor pads on both sides of the bed so he wouldn't hurt himself if he fell. They're always looking for how to keep a person safe and monitor a person. We had the whole team in the room yesterday, and each one told us how things are going and what to expect. They've been very helpful because we're trying to get Medicaid for him. They've been so good to us and my husband. Their food is nutritious. The floors sparkle, you don't smell anything, and it's very clean. They decorated the place for Halloween and it's lovely. All he's doing there is rehab.

It seems as though Roger is getting the attention that he needs at Radford Health and Rehab Center, and it seems clean. The room is basically adequate. You could bring in your own furniture and make it a little cozier in the assisted living, but the room in the nursing home has the basics. It’s not as warm and fuzzy as the assisted living. This was like a hospital where they delivered food to each room. I know they have bingo and they have some different activities throughout the day for the residents. They have a calendar in each room with four different activities in a day. The attitude of the staff seems positive. They have a receptive attitude about things the family has discussed with them or asked of them.

My friend stayed at Radford Health And Rehab Center for rehab. She was there for two months. It's really a very nice facility, and my friend got good care. She was pleased with the attention and care she got. Radford had a set menu and didn't really offer lots of choices at any one meal.
