Canterbury is an apartment complex that provides housing for the elderly and disabled. We offer rental subsidy or assistance through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is within walking distance of medical-related services, grocery stores, banks, Veterans Administration Medical Center, many restaurants and retail stores.Canterbury is a not-for-profit outreach project conceived of and sponsored by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Big Spring, Texas. Our mission is to offer clean, safe, affordable housing to the elderly and disabled who are able to live in a non assisted program. Canterbury is a 6 story high rise building built in 1979. There are 120 apartments, which include 35 efficiency apartments, 81 one bedroom units and 4 two bedroom apartments. Of these apartments, 11 have accessibility features.
