I would preferably give them negative stars. I don’t know what this place’s deal is but they have THE WORST service ever. Called them 4 weeks ago just to ask where my grandma was on their list because she had to move/use her voucher by the end of the month and we knew she was getting close to the top AND that they had openings. These people had the nerve to ignore and avoid both my mom and my grandma’s caseworker AND STILL HAVEN’T RESPONDED. It’s not like it was just one person, it was 2-3 that work there that couldn’t give us a simple “yes” or “no” and repeatedly said they would “have an answer by tomorrow”. It’s been a month of tomorrows and we’re out of time.

I wouldn't mind living there at Cottages of Shippensburg. They showed me the sample apartment and it looked okay. By looking at the outside and grounds, I expected the inside to be just a little better than what it was. I expected to see ceiling fans in the dining room and the bedroom at least, so that you can get some flowing air instead of having to always put on the air-conditioner or the heat. The staff was nice except the manager was in her office and I expected her to come out and at least greet me. It was the assistant who was communicating with me.

My tour of Cottages of Shippensburg was OK. The place looked really good. The rooms were nice, spacious, and clean. They're all pretty much the same; basically a small house with two bedrooms. Some have an attached garage and others have an unattached garage. The garages were a big plus for me. They have several different activities. The place is in a cul-de-sac so they don't have a lot of traffic. The person I talked to there didn't return my calls when she said she was going to and really basically kind of led me on as far as the whole cottage experience goes. She said there were two apartments available and when I went down to get the apartments, there were none. Then a couple of weeks ago I called to really get some specific information and asked how many people are ahead of me for these cottages, and she said there were five people ahead of me, which she didn't tell me earlier. I was not impressed at all with her.

I'm moving to the Cottages of Shippensburg. It seems to have what I want. It's independent living, and it's close to my daughter. The cottage I'll be moving into had bigger rooms, it has a nice, big garage, and I liked it. They have a community room, the public library bring books to them, and you can take out books there, and once a month they have a covered dish dinner. We worked with the assistant manager, she was very nice, very helpful, and I think she's a great asset to the community.

Cottages of Shippensburg was very nicely laid out. It had flowers and many other things, and it seemed like everything you needed was there. The apartment had two bedrooms and a garage for parking. The staff was very friendly when they talked to me, and the person who assisted me was nice and knowledgeable. They had a community room where everyone can get together. It's a really nice place.
