We love Wynwood House - Nittany Valley. It's small and easy to maneuver inside. It's very homey and cozy as soon as you walk in the door. The room that we are taking is a suite, so it's a double room and it's cheaper than the other places. It's also just five minutes away from us, so we can go visit as often as we like. The person that we dealt with was outstanding, very nice, and very polite. I have the facilitator's number, and I'm just able to text her and ask her several questions. She's been so accommodating. I can go in any time I want to get things set up for my father-in-law. So, it's been a wonderful experience with them.

My mother was at this facility for over three years, and although she suffered from dementia she was well liked by the other people at the facility. She passed away several weeks ago and neither my sister, whom lives in Boalsburg nor myself, whom lives in Phoenix got so much as a sympathy card. No flowers at the funeral. No phone call. Nothing. I read this as no compassion.

In 2018, Wynwood House approved my mother's transfer from a skilled nursing facility. At Wynwood House-Nittany Valley, my mother's blood sugar reading was 300+. The doctor affiliated with Wynwood House said that this blood sugar level was acceptable as long as it didn't reach 400. There are significant flaws in the Wynwood House-Nittany Valley building design and/or location of the AC vents. The building was kept too cool. There are AC vents just above the entrances of some of the residents' rooms. Cold air pours down into the room. The laundry was not done properly. Clothes smelled of urine. One day, staff put the waterproof underwear OVER my mother's sweatpants. Wynwood House-Nittany Valley was understaffed (the head nurse had quit). Toilet and bed was not initially equipped for elderly/disabled. My mother passed away after just three weeks at Wynwood House-Nittany Valley.

My mother moved into Wynwood House and the care is very good. They have a craft room, they do crafts, they have puzzle tables with puzzles, and all sorts of things for them to do. The food is good, and they have a variety of everything. Its a very nice facility and they take care of them. We can take stuff up, decorate her room, and put pictures on her wall. Its good, and were very pleased with everything so far.
