About Plantation House in Okmulgee, Oklahoma
At Plantation House, we share a common goal with every family who walks through our doors: We want the best for our seniors. Decades of experience have shown us that giving "your all", frankly, isn't enough. Seniors at Plantation House experience possibilities, reach their potential, and live each day to its fullest. We see it as our responsibility (and great privilege) to provide the opportunities and inspiration for our residents to embrace senior living and thrive in their new lifestyle at Plantation House.
Through the years, we have identified the facets of healthy living that contribute to our residents' total well-being. These include environmental, nutritional, physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional factors. We combine them to keep the twinkle in the eyes of our residents, and we call it our LAUGH philosophy: Living And Understanding Greater Health. For example, taking in a brain fitness class may contribute to more than mental well-being by building new social relationships and prolonging independence. Breaking bread together in our dining room may nourish more than the body when you consider the lively conversation and positive atmosphere. Our attractive and bright individual residences can provide more than a safe environment when embellished with cherished belongings, personal mementos, or even the companionship of a small pet. Laughter is the best medicine, and it all adds up to happier seniors in a healthier community.
Like you, we want the very best for our Seniors. Our LAUGH philosophy helps us achieve this together at Plantation House.

It is a clean place with daily activities. They manage mom's meds, clean her apartment, do her laundry, and transport her to and from doctors' appointments. They do a really good job with her. The place is a single story with everything from studio up to three-bedroom apartments. Mom is in a two-bedroom apartment, which is handicap accessible, so the doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and walkers. All residents have to be ambulatory and able to provide for their daily hygiene needs and dress and bathe themselves. The food is average but meets the dietary criteria and guidelines provided by the state. As far as social activities, they do arts and crafts, go on trips to the lake or shopping, and things like that. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
