"Golden Oaks is such a superior place to retire. It has everything you need: a pool, food court, tennis courts, even a massage parlour. It's simply the best. My grandmother received excellent service from the employees and always got a warm meal delivered to her door at dinner and lunch time. Breakfast was in the food court and she is satisfied with the quality of the foos. "

"I moved into Golden Oaks. It's a very nice place. I have a very nice apartment and the food is good. They have a swimming pool, exercise room, beauty shop, and all kinds of activities like art classes, bingo, dominoes, and they go to Walmart. The staff is very nice."

"My wife had her rehab at Hillcrest Manor. One thing I observed is, that their menu is a little heavy on carbohydrates for somebody who is diabetic. They don't offer you much alternative, and my wife is diabetic. I thought the care was pretty good. Obviously, nursing homes today are challenged by labor issues. There were times that people didn't show up, and other people had to work a lot harder. I thought the care overall was pretty good. It looks pretty good. It's a large building. Their overall outside appearance is good. They've got grounds around, and they aren't crowded by other buildings, which is good.They have a couple of nice dining rooms, and there are some places where people can go to get books or watch a movie or so. I would say it's fairly spacious inside. They're not operating at full capacity there and some rooms are not used. So, they do have space to accommodate more people as necessary. For me, the food was fine. But if somebody is diabetic, it seemed heavy on carbs at times. One thing they could improve on is insect control around the vicinity. They also need to look at their food menu and have an alternative menu for people who are diabetic. They need to have a little different menu for them on some of these occasions."

"Burgundy Place was clean. It seemed to be well organized and well run. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were good. They seemed to have a good program for the seniors to socialize and get active. They were very amendable as far as transporting the seniors if they want to go shopping or eat at a restaurant somewhere. We didn't try the food but my sister, her husband and my mother all spent the night there just to try it out and they thought it was really good. "

"I visited my mother in Highland Park Manor. It is unclean, unkept, and overall, has poor service and poor care. The staff is overworked, and the facility is understaffed. The rooms are very small and kept as neat as possible, but it's very old fashioned. They need to hire more help because their help is overworked. "

"Again, dirty and not well managed. I was on a feeding tube so I can't say anything about the food. I do know the funds are not managed well and they had to send me to the hospital for a new feeding tube since they clogged mine. They hold hamburger fries in their courtyard where the residents can watch, but residents are not allowed to join the fun - it is for staff personnel only. "
