i would avoid at all costs... some of the staff are excellent and truly care where others seem to care of only one thing.... and it is not the care of the patients.... patients are routinely left waiting for help when others are too busy chatting or on there phones or hiding and they are constantly short staffed and residents are fed later and later everyday and have even seen them being fed close to 7pm consistently every night with just one aide handing out countless meals while nursing staff does not help .... nurses routinely lie to residents family over how they are cared for and are either incompetent or ignorant of the care they are giving out... I WOULD NEVER PLACE ANYONE I CARE ABOUT OR KNOW IN ANY OF THE ABSOLUTE FACILITIES... THEY DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO ..... if NY state was doing what it should be.... they would be closed and under new ownership..... i have seen countless people who arrive to leave in ambulance ...... there are countless places better for our loved ones.... to the excellent people who are still there..... leave and go somewhere where u will truly be appreciated..... to those who hurt and treat our precious loved ones this way..... we all stand before the Lord on day to answer for all we have done....

My mother was placed at Absolut Care of Westfield a couple of times for rehab. The facility seemed not very modern, but clean. Most of the staff seemed friendly, but some probably should be in a different field of work. The administration was very good and helpful whenever I called. For my mom's care, it was below average. The first time in March, it was good and better than I had hoped, though not perfect, but this time, it was not very good at all. I think they were short-staffed because one of the wards was closed to COVID, and I know a lot of the nurses were home. There were single and double rooms and each room had its own bathroom, but not a shower. The food was not quite so good. I know on the calendar they had movie days, they had bingo days, and one time they had a dance demonstration when she was there in March. Each day, they had one thing. The facility was not bad, but not stellar.

My husband is now in Absolut. It is close to my home. The place is well-maintained. The atmosphere seems to be good. They have a nice activity program. The people themselves gather in small places. Where my husband is there is a lounge, and you find people in there talking all the time. In fact, my husband made a new friend today. The food is not very good though. My husband usually eats in his room and by the time he gets it, it is cold, and not very appetizing. Some of the staff members are really devoted to their job, but others are not efficiently trained. The nurses are very good, but the aides need more training. For the most part, they're friendly. They just had an Easter dinner for the residents and their families on Sunday, which was nice.

I went to Absolut, and it was average, or not really appealing. They have some activities. The dining room was pleasant. The staff seemed to be professional, organized, and doing their job. The rooms were clean.
