My husband is at Mercy Living Center, and it's pretty good. It's pretty nice and clean. They have to share rooms there. There are only 60 residents, but right now, I think they're full. It's just that everybody is so short-staffed. That's the problem, but the staff is wonderful. They just need more. It is hard for them to take care of that many residents. They only had two nurses on staff at night. The food is wonderful, and they have all kinds of activities like ice cream socials and music. There's one big room where they can eat all together if they want, but they can also eat in their own rooms. They have physical therapy, too. If they have to go to the hospital for X-rays or something like that, they transport them. It's nice. They do a lot for those residents.

My father-in-law stayed at Mercy Living Center for rehab, but he wouldn't do his rehab, so we had to bring him home. I didn't really like anything about the place, but that was the only place we could send him to that was close to us. Everybody was in the basement and this was in summer, so it was a little bit warm. The room was fair. Dad always complained about the food. It was never good enough, but he's spoiled when he's at home. When we would go up there, we would always stop and get him some food that he liked or preferred. We went up there a lot and Dad's room had not been swept or mopped, and I had to get after them for that. I wasn't really happy. They were understaffed and I don't know how many different shifts they had to work because people didn't show up for work, so they had to struggle with that. The facilities could have been better managed. They didn't get their people involved. I did not feel that our money was well spent there. Everything was just not good. I was not impressed.
