I placed my beloved dad here . Can't say enough about how caring, compassionate and loving the staff is. They communicate everything with the family making sure all of his needs are met nursing, sw, activites ,therapies , housekeeping, nutrition are a team they have a vibrant heathy environment keeping our loved one stimulated and adding quality to his life. Always clean , meals are delightful. Administration must be on top of and invested in there employees there's always a smile from staff and they look happy doing there job any day or time we visit . Tough decision to place a loved one but never felt more confident in making the decision. Thank you Renaissance for making such a difficult decision a truly warm and compassionate expierence!

My husband was in there rehabilitation center... Only put your elderly family member here if you hate them & you never intend on visiting them!!! The smells are horrendous & the eldery are left in the hallways wrapped in sheets in there wheel chairs. Very sad & depressing!!!

It's hard to comment on this place, the food is no good and the service is beyond horrible, but you can't blame overworked and underpaid workers. The place does to meet any kind of standards. The elevator open between floors, it smells horrible. The worker has no clue about the patient, They have no clue where their patients are. We complained that the patient had to go to the bathroom and the nurse's response is that the patient has a diaper. Many complaints were brought to the attention and as of yet, nothing has been done. I honestly think they need to get more workers and give raises to the one that is there. They should think of themselves when they get old would they like to be treated that way. The nursing home gets paid $10,000 monthly for 1 patient imagine how much they make in a month.

My father stayed in a place that we got him out of and I wouldn't put my dog in. It was called the Renaissance Nursing and Rehabilitation out in Hyde Park, Staatsburg area. They were awful and I wouldn't give them a good review for anything. I hope people don't put their loved ones there so I would love to share my experience with them. That facility was horrible. My dad was left in a soaking wet bed, and they were telling me on the phone that he wasn't telling the truth. I drove out there in the evening and found him wet. I felt that the staff was not as caring and attentive as they were supposed to care for him. I just don't feel it's a very good facility at all and I would never suggest it to anybody. The facility looked good though and the activity people were fairly nice. They make it look nice when you go there but it felt to me like they spent more money trying to make it look nice than having it be as good as it looks. It's a privately-owned place and the lobby was beautiful and they put a lot of effort into the appearance of the lobby and that kind of stuff. My dad was there for long-term nursing care and my last visit was about 3 years ago.

Horrific facility, no care given for patients, they are left in bed or chairs with diapers on staff is uncaring, and inattentive and borderline abusive. Administration does not care and are only concerned with collecting paychecks and attending conferences. Police have been called by numerous families to check on patients because of suspected abuse.

Extremely understaffed. High turnover. Difficult to reach anyone. More often than not calls even to administration are not returned. Very poorly managed. Stay away from here

The staff needs immediate training on how to desl with the population they serve. The are very careless when it comes to dispensing medication. Their approach to resolve an issue us to tell you about there lack of managing coverage or their personal issue. It is not a safe environment for the community that they serve as they are not equipped educationally or professionally. Dietary needs are not noted regarding which food they can not have like pork. Sometimes they do not replace the meal eventhough there are calls for replacements. Most importantly the lack of communication. The staff is nice but need education on how to deal with resolution to there mistakes. They do have activities for the residents but the beds need to be updated. They are wooden twin beds with a thin foam mattrese and they constantly have issues.

I walked around this facility to determine whether it was suitable for a family member. It stunk like a sewer outside. That's because they rarely clean their septic tanks. Makes me wonder what else they don't clean. Needless to say, after gagging from the odor & reading other reviews, I told my family, "NO WAY!"

My brother has been here several times. This time he came in needing medical help and physical therapy. The nurses are very good with my brother. There is at times a lack of help when needed. But recently he had to go to the ER. My mom wants to thank the dr at the renessance for calling vassar hospital on behave of my brother to inform the er dr on my brothers condition. There is room for improvement here. But overall, the staff is doing there best with him. Thank you to the physical therapist too

I was a patient of Renaissance for a VERY short time (I would not send my dog there). While I was there I actually over heard the Owner/CEO yell/scream at two other patients and heard him discuss personal, medical and financial information about patients in the lobby. He is so rude, unprofessional and thinks way too highly of himself. He has no place being in the care business. He skimps on all needed items for patients all while talking a good game. The staff try very hard to give good care but all their efforts are limited by the CEO. Food is very poor quality. Housekeeping is so so. Nursing Staff are kind and mean well. Activities are offered daily and seem to be a wide variety. Supplies are meager. The Therapy Department is very good, But I could not stay to complete it because of the CEO. The facility needs work: some rooms are freezing while others are boiling. Evenings are very loud when you try to sleep.

I wouldn't have given this place any stares but you have to, to be able to write a review! This place is awful, no one should be in this place!! Would not recommend this place for a rat let alone a human!! They do not read care plans, no one has a clue about anything that is going on with patients... Even after they are told you want to talk to them, they still come in the room unprepared and that was a supervisor on floor 1! The place is filthy, there's not enough staff. My father sat in the bathroom for 45 mins yelling before someone came to help him!!!! He has to have help getting to and from. (Hip surgery) I found a pill, a used glove in the hallway on the floor. Occupational therapy is a joke, they never even read his care plan. Physical therapy, well I have some issues with them too, my father cut his finger pretty good there do to inadequate equipment, he also fell while with them. Oh the beds are awful, old and cracked only one side has bed rails, tall people be ready to hang off the beds. The food is a joke, it wouldn't fill my 4 year old up. If you want to lose weight eat here. The water they give you in the pinkish containers, expect that to never have fresh water in it, let alone changed, they offer you nothing to drink except water. Unless you get your "meal" for the day. I could go on and on. Bottom line, don't put your loved one here!!

This facility has a good physical therapy department but is not appropriate for any patient who is immobile and in need of quality medical care. Patients needing assistance & using call bells to request assistance are NOT responded to in a reasonable time frame. Likewise, calls to the Center made during the evening & night are rarely answered. There is an obvious shortage of staff and this negatively impacts patient care. However staff are courteous & attempt to address patient concerns. Although this Center is categorized as sub acute, it’s medical care is sub-par and is not appropriate for people needing this level of care. Look elsewhere.

l been in the facility several times to visit, the food is not great, you're left on hold for a ridiculous length of time, it's very frustrating to try to talk to your love one and left on hold with a less than caring receptionist. the nurses an aides are loud, often challenging each other, the male manager is an egomaniac who doesn't put effort into his residents. I am pulling my love one out as soon as l can.

I was in Renaissance. The physician and occupational therapies were excellent. The room was nice but kind of dusty, but I guess they were redoing it. They had activities throughout the whole day, like puzzles and building Santa's house.

My great grandmother suffered here for two months. In that short time she developed severe sores and was drugged to stay in bed all day. Once we were informed about the sores we had her removed immediately.

I went on a very quick tour of Renaissance Rehabilitation. I was looking for a place for my mom. But I think it was not the right facility for her because it's more for people with severe dementia. From what I've seen, it was fine.

My experience at the above facility was not that great, but it wasn't horrible either. I think the facility could have been much cleaner then it was, the staff did not seem to take much interest in housekeeping and upkeep. Most of the staff at the facility were very pleasant though. The nurses and nurse aids seemed very in touch with all the residents in the facility, and seemed to try their hardest to make everyone feel at home and comfortable. The level of care as far as I was concerned, was very high. They all also seemed to take a real interest in making me comfortable whenever I would come for a visit. The food at the facility however was not that good and could definitely use improvement as well. A lot of the food was bland, mushy and just did not taste great at all. Other then those few things I would have to say the facility was overall a decent place and the staff helps make it that way.
