The facility is certainly a good option when choosing an assisted living facility for an older relative. The facility has been owned and managed by a local family, Joseph & Helen, which certainly makes one feel more at home than if it was to be managed by some nation-wide institution. The cost, while presenting itself to be affordable, certainly takes into account the average living expenses of the area, and as such definitely requires one to be rather wealthy in order to afford it. Consequently, this facility is a good choice for someone who can easily afford to hire a nurse or other help, but prefers company of other senior individuals or perhaps has a specific need for an around the clock help. The employees seem compassionate and are effective and experienced at their jobs. One never feels like their loved one might be neglected by the staff. The facility also has all the necessary permits and licenses required by the New York state, and all in all seems like a well managed and operated facility.

Joseph Corso and his staff have created a wonderfully nurturing and professional environment for the elderly. The Peconic Retreat is a relatively small facility which makes for a real 'home away from home' feel.
