Taos Living Center was a really good facility. People who stay there can go to a restaurant or something, or do activities outside of the facility with supervision. The staff was pretty nice. They showed me around and gave me a lot of information. The patients, in general, are well cared for. They have an activities room. They could be there from four to six months. There are young people there who had maybe a critical accident, then there are old people there, like my dad, who have a lot of medical issues that need to be monitored. There's a bed and a loveseat in the room. It's set up just like you were in a hospital. I was supposed to go back and take a second tour to check it out a little more when they're not so busy, because I went at a time when they had an activity going. It's also for somebody who's on palliative care. They seem very caring. They're next to a hospital, and doctors can come right away, and the doctors do rounds there. It is a small facility, and they say that they give personalized care. It looked clean and neat.

My wife has a severely broken ankle and is currently in Taos Living Center, but not for long, I hope. If I could give a zero rating for the nursing care, I would. They have left her in pain for hours, not bringing her pain meds when due. They refuse to answer her call button. In desperation, she dragged herself out of bed into a wheelchair in the middle of the night and painfully rolled herself to the nurse’s station, where 3 nurses sat, twiddling their thumbs and picking their noses. This has been a pattern for the 3 days she’s been there. On the other hand, staff from the hospital have been very good doing wound care and PT. The nursing care is the worst, though. I’m 74, and when I check her out of there today, I’ll be providing all her care at home, and doing a much better job than TLC.

My brother was admitted due to an antibiotic resistant UTI contracted while at Holy Cross Hospital in Taos while having knee replacement surgery. He has been at the Living Center twice in the last two months, during the transition from the old ownership to the new ownership. The staff is NOT qualified nor has my brother received any follow-up medical care for the UTI. His urologist has not been granted privileges at the Living Center so his wife (74 yo, just had a hip replacement) has had to wheel him in a chair to his doctor at the hospital for follow-up because they do not have money to use for ambulance service. He is severely dehydrated and not receiving adequate care. This place is horrible!

This is the best facility in Taos, the staff is fantastic, nursing care 24/7 Food is good, nightly movies, many recreations for clients, exerciser facility, barbershop, worship room, Recreation room, Monthly Client and Family meetings. The only drawback is Clothing that are provided for Client by family sometimes vanish, usually by mistake.

Taos Living Center is not too good. The staff is OK and helpful. The rooms are small and crowded. They have bingo and group activities.
