My grandmother is a resident at Sullivan County Nursing Home in Claremont, NH. The facility has 3 floors or units and residents are situated based on the level of care they need. Most of the staff that I have met have been very pleasant and helpful and have made my grandma feel welcome. Sullivan County has many activities for the residents to participate in such as game night, dances and even cooking classes. The only thing that I find odd and it makes myself and my grandmother a bit uncomfortable, is that the home is connected to the county jail. Inmates from the jail help cook in the kitchen and wash the laundry for the residents of the home. Some of the inmates are not very pleasant and although they are forbidden to interact with the residents, they do not always follow the rules. Overall Sullivan County Nursing Home meets the needs and expectations of most residents, but it does have a unique set up.
