Golden Livingcenter - Tekamah

We have selected Tekamah Care and Rehab (Golden Livingcenter), which is a local rehab place for my mother-in-law. It is excellent. Her room is very clean. They have tailored some activities for her. With her Alzheimer's, she is really comfortable with doing things like folding laundry, so they give her things like that to do. It is an older place, and it was recently sold so they're going to update it. They have a physical therapist on staff so they have been working with her daily. They have a psychologist that will come in and see her once a month just to evaluate. The food has been excellent. They're very good about customizing menu for many people they have. They keep the place very clean, too.

For a small town, this will have to do. It is not a very big establishment, but it is nice. The grounds are kept up and the building is built solidly. The staff is not very friendly and many of them are not trained well enough to take care of the elderly. I was not impressed by their service and how they treat people.

The outlook of this nursing home is great, but I have heard that the quality of the staff is less than desired. My friend in the home stayed there for a good span of time and frequently talked about how the staff could be much more attentive. The overall look of of this home is good, the yard and home itself looks very comforting and a nice place to live. Get some hard facts about the staff before considering though.
