My parents will be moving into Transition Assisted Living. It's a little bit smaller. The layout is not so nursing home style with long hallways, which get people confused. There's more one-on-one care. They just seemed nice. It was very clean and beautiful. It was mostly memory care that we were going for. The staff was really helpful. The director was running a little bit late because she got tied up somewhere, so somebody else stepped in and it was just one of the regular workers there. Other ones came out of the rooms and just came up and talked to us. They were talking to guests that were there. They're just very personable. The food looked good. They have two awesome sitting areas for quiet time. They have a nice game area. They have a theater area with reclining chairs. They have an outside patio that's gated. They're right across from Lake Michigan, so that was even better.

I liked that Transition Assisted Living was small, but they had shared bathrooms, which I did not like. It was fairly clean. However, patients were allowed to have cats, and we are not cat people. So that was definitely a no. They have a theater room, a library, a small social living room, and a dining room. The staff who gave the tour was really good.
