"Bellingham was excellent. I like the professionalism of the staff -- not the staff that showed me around -- but the nursing professionals that I had a conference with. The rooms were small. There were several that I felt that were at par, but I would say Bellingham is a 5. "

"We went to Sunrise of Westtown, but it's 20 to 25 minutes from my mother's house. When we walked in, there's a big welcome sign with my name on it. The girl was very nice, and the facility was nice. Everybody was friendly there, they couldn't have been nicer. It's a beautiful facility. The room we saw was semi-private with a bathroom in the middle that was shared by both residents, so 2 beds and a bathroom. It was plenty big enough for them."

"The staff were very nice at Quadrangle. They have a selection of different styles; they have one-bedroom, they have one-bedroom plus den, and they have two bedrooms. "

"The rooms were small in Ivy Gables. However, it was decorated beautifully and clean. I didn’t see a lot of interactions; I only saw six people, and they looked like they had memory issues. They have a comprehensive program for medication and care, but the price is a little high. The dining area was very nice and looked dignified and classy. "

"I toured Daylesford Crossing. It's a wonderful place, with wonderful people and very modern-looking rooms. The staff knows every resident by name, so everybody is on a first-name basis. They took me to their physical therapy room and event room. They were doing some events when I got there. They were having a magic show. They didn't have the level of care that my parents needed, but it was one of the top ones that we liked. They had a very small library. They had someone come once a week to do hair and nails. The gym was the physical therapy room, so it was a smaller room. It was more like an apartment building."

"We visited Arbour Square. The facility is brand new, it has a lot of openings, the waiting-list is short, and it has a nice concept. It has a nice atmosphere, and the rooms were adequate. The staff was very pleasant, and the people were pleasant."

"My mom moved into Sunrise of Paoli. She loves it. She loves every bit of it. She likes the fact that it's a community and not a hospital, and that it's very clean. She also likes the fact that everyone there is very friendly. She also likes the fact that when she asks for some help, they're very prompt and also very professional. The staff is very professional. The food is excellent. The facility is very clean and very orderly. Everything is very well marked. You don't get lost in the building. You don't get lost outside. They have activities every day. My mom participates in them and she's an instructor in some of the activities. She instructs knitting and crochet. So, she's not only involved as a participant as well as an instructor. They have a veranda that you can sit on and they also have a common area where you can sit as well as the dining area, like a bistro-type area."

"Sunrise of Wilmington seemed very nice, and the staff was very nice and seemed to be friendly. The rooms were kind of small but clean. The people seemed content; there was a concert of someone playing the piano when I was there, and they seemed to enjoy it. "

"My mom is in here since September and it's been great! For my mom's level, it is a perfect place for her. It is not overwhelming not like those huge complexes. The staff is very caring and nice. They know everybody by name and they are very attentive. Her apartment is very nice. She has a living area, a bedroom, a nice size bathroom and she's very comfortable there. It is really cozy and she really likes it a lot. She said the food is good. There is a lot for her to do. She likes doing crafts like making jewelry, she does painting, she plays bingo, bowling and participates in music. Singers like Frank Sinatra come in. She is socializing more and they do a good job in trying to involve the family too. They have brunches for the family to come out and visit. My mom has also been in a couple of dinners where they take them out to dinners. Overall, we are very happy with them."

"I toured HarborChase of Wilmington's assisted living. The rooms were very nice, very updated, and it looked like there were a lot of activities for the residents to do. I know they have a hair salon, which was nice, for the residents to use. They have art and a lot of things that they would be interested in. I didn't see the menu, but they had about 3 different restaurants. When I asked the lady who was giving the tour if the food was good, because a lot of times it's not, she said it was. Just the way it looked though, I think it would be good. The upkeep was very good too. The staff was very good, very helpful, and very friendly. "

"My mother moved to Arden Courts in 2011. She has been a resident of Arden Courts for over two years now. Her dementia prevents her remembering where she is or why she is here. The caregivers and all staff interact with my mother in a positive, friendly manner. They smile and treat mom with respect. Before each of the many daily activities, a staff member tells mom about the activity and asks her if she would like to join in the activity. Mom participates in many activities, such as chair exercises, painting and other art projects, sing-along, bingo, word games, story telling, balloon volleyball, manicures, resident birthday parties, pet visits, and worship services. Mom especially likes the out trips when residents travel by bus to a restaurant, park, musical performance, museum, or a scenic ride. Mom receives much more mental stimulation than she received in her house three years ago when she had only one in-home care provider at a time. Now, the increased interaction appears to have slowed mom's mental decline and it definitely elevates her mood. I recommend Arden Courts for your loved one with memory loss issues. "

"Brittany Manor didn't provide respite care services. Going in there, it was more for people who are mentally challenged. Before I went in, there was a resident already asking me for money while I was sitting in my car, and then when I went in, there was another resident who was asking me for money, and food, and whatever I had in my hand. The person who walked me around was a five. My experience trying to confirm that I had a tour was a one or a zero. I called to confirm, and no one seemed to be able to confirm with me that they were aware that I was coming. They said they would get back to me, and no one ever got back to me, so I just wound up showing up, and the person who gave me the tour was very friendly. However, she wasn't necessarily prepared to provide a tour. The place was very disheveled. Whoever owned the place before, that signage was still up there. The facility smelled as soon as I got in the door. The staff pretty much mentioned this is for people who have mental disabilities. The room I saw wasn't dirty. It's just that everything looked old. Everything didn't look like it was maintained properly. That's not a place I would recommend for anybody. It didn't seem like the patients were even well taken care of. The people that I talked to on the phone were not professional in my book, and telling me that you're going to get back to me, and then you still don't get back, that was very concerning."

"Echo Lake was the only one who took my stepmother. I went through some tours with the other places, but then at the last minute they just turned us down. She has a certain condition and Echo Lake had no problems taking her. They treat her like any other resident and the place is just absolutely beautiful. They are very attentive to all her needs because she has extra needs and the food's good. Just a very positive atmosphere and she's thriving there. It's a studio that we picked for her. They supply a bed, an end table, a lamp, a comfy chair, a pretty big bathroom with a shower that she can just wheel her wheelchair into, a kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, microwave, counter space, and upper and lower cabinets. The staff is extremely friendly. They are willing to do anything and they are not rushed. Like they're not trying to hurry you up to go do something else. They genuinely care about the individual and you can see it in everything they do. They seem very educated in what they're doing as well. She has three meals a day, but if she wanted to eat six times, she could. They've got a ton of activities throughout the day every day, including weekends. They do exercises twice a day, they play games, they do readings, puzzle time, bingo, and they have this big calendar in the assisted living and independent living, but you can go to either area. It doesn't matter if you're assisted living or not."
