My father moved to Zen Senior Living. It was OK. We've been there since March and we've had a maintenance call quite a few times. The grounds are OK, too. It's clean inside but my father got some stuff going on and when you call, you won't get in touch with a person until 3 or 4 days later. If you go for the bell, you have to have a landline phone. You can't have it ring on your cell phone. A lot of older people are trying to save money, but every little thing there, they want you to pay for it. The complex is pretty OK. The staff is pretty good, though. I see rooms with people in them. Sometimes they'd be sitting in a hallway where they have the chairs and then they have the piano right there, but they would just be sitting there talking and that's mostly what I see. I don't see any activities and stuff going on. To me, I think it's not worth the money because the dishwasher hasn't been fixed. They didn't fix it a couple of times. They do the carpet outside, but they don't clean around where the residents stay. It's like a free-for-all place. You just come and you have to do your own type of thing. I don't like that too much.

I toured Zen Senior Living. It is very beautiful, but for two bedrooms, you need to pay $2900, which includes your heat and water. The rooms were beautiful, bright, clean, and updated. I couldn't see anything that you would not want except you have to pay for them, and there was no assistance of any kind. They didn't offer to talk about it or entertain it. It's like, 'You either got this money or you don't.' For me, it ends up being somewhat disappointing. The staff were very nice and very professional. No problem. People around seemed to be very engaged and interactive as well. Nobody rushed me in or rushed me out. Everything was good. Overall, it was excellent, but I would give one star for affordability. As for the staff, I didn't meet everybody, but there was nothing for me to complain about because the staff took a lot of time with me, and she showed me plenty. No rushing through anything. It's a beautiful place.

I liked the apartments at Zen Easton Senior Living. The apartment that I saw was updated, very clean, and very nice. The hallways were nice. People had little flowers on their doors. I didn't talk to anybody, but the people that I ran into all seemed very friendly and talked with each other. The game room and the dining area were empty. There wasn't anything to see there. The apartment I saw had one big living room-dining area and a small kitchen area, and it looked fairly new. There was one bathroom, and it looked new, and a nice-sized one bedroom. It's all newly painted and newly carpeted. It's very nice. I only saw people walking in the corridors. I didn't see them in a game room or anywhere else. The staff during the tour was very nice and very helpful. The facility was very clean.
