My husband moved to Bayou Chateau Nursing Center. They had a nurse and CNAs in the memory care unit, I am very pleased with all of them. The staff was friendly and caring. My husband's not the easiest thing to take care of right now, but I think they're doing a great job. I've only been there one time when he was given his lunch and I thought it looked very good. They did bring him a snack yesterday while we were there. I just saw the food. It looked very good and he ate it with no problem. It's not a new building, but every time I've been there it's been very clean and I'm very happy. I'm sure there are some things about it that need to be upgraded. They take my husband outside. He loves to be outside. I do know they do take him out and let him go out into a fenced area.

Bayou Belle

I found Bayou Chateau to be a wonderful place for my loved one. The facility is modern and well kept. The patient rooms and the sitting rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. The grounds include landscaped areas as well as porches with rocking chairs where residents may sit outdoors, enjoy the weather and pass the time of day. There are patient activity coordinators who supervise a variety of activities both on the grounds and as field trips to local shopping centers and other areas of interest. The employees of Bayou Chateau have a way of making residents and guests feel at home. They seem to love their jobs and their happiness is reflected in the many smiles on faces and the sound of laughter as they interact with each other and the residents. The nursing staff is caring and compassionate. The cafeteria offers a wonderful variety of food in addition to making special meals for those with dietary restrictions. Bayou Chateau is located in a small town and many of the residents and staff members have been neighbors for much of their lives or they know each other's relative and friends. That feeling is also reflected in Bayou Chateau and the staff, residents and guests feel that Bayou Chateau is a more like friendly neighborhood in a small town than a nursing home.
