Bayou Vista Manor Nursing Home

My mom was a resident of Bayou Vista Manor Nursing Home. It was a wonderful place. The staff, facilities, and everything was good. The staff was very caring and compassionate, and they took their time to work with their patients. They were really good; I was impressed. The rooms were single-occupancy with a bathroom and no shower. They were roomy, they had closets, a couch, a place for guests to sit, a television, and adequate lighting. The staff was wonderful, and they had activities for the residents.

I have visited this facility many times. The place is lovely. The food is awesome, the aids and staff are always nice and very helpful to the residents. The housekeeping department keeps the place smelling fresh and clan at allt imes. Never have I seen anyone being rude to the residents.The residents enjoy and love there meals and are very happy living there. My grandmother is in there and she refuses to come home and visit because she loves it that much. I would recommend putting more of my family members there when and if the time comes.

IN one word HORRIBLE. The facility was very foul smelling and the workers were extremely lazy. Nurses refused to do their jobs and I even witnessed one of the nurses getting an attitude with one of the patients when she was requested of to clean them because they had relieved themselves on themselves. The food is inedible, under-cooked majority of the times and the director didn't seem to notice what patient belonged to either nurse or didn't even know the patients themselves. I figure he is just too lazy to get personally acquainted.
