My mother is in Keelson Harbour. Their place is awesome, and the people are good to work with. It's a very clean and updated community, and they really care about their people. They're helping us with Mom's medication. It's just an awesome place. They're nice people. She has a single bedroom, nice shower that's kind of flat, no rise to get into it, so you won't trip getting into the shower. It's all modern, painted nice, and very nice. They had other rooms on the other side. The other rooms had a little rise to get into the shower and they had a dryer and washer in the room. We took the one without a dryer and washer because the shower was bigger with a seat to sit down. She can always go around the corner and do her own laundry if she'd like. They used to take them to a resort to gamble a little bit, they had a little happy hour on Friday nights, and they played pinochle and bingo. They are really friendly, and she's doing therapy on her legs every day to help get her legs back together. They're doing a very good job at that. They have a place to get her hair done, and she's getting an appointment done for her hair. It's like a luxury resort. She says the food is good. There are activities there if she wants to get involved.

We toured Keelson Harbour. The person we met was wonderful. She was very outgoing, and bubbly, and she answered our questions. We met with her for a little bit and talked about mom, and then she showed us some of the rooms and showed us around the dining room. They had a couple of different dining rooms. It's a really fun facility. They've got a little coffee nook where there were some ladies playing cards. They had two big rooms they used for different things for activities. They had an activity going on that we got to see. They were making a little painted wooden door, knickknacks thing for the doors. I thought it was a wonderful facility. The thing that we didn't like about it was it's just huge and it has elevators. Even my sister and I were kind of lost and we thought it would take mom a little bit to figure it out. They said one dining room is for one area and the other dining room was for the other area just to try and keep it so the residents can figure out where things are. I'm sure you'll get used to it after you're there, but we just felt it was too big for mom. We have nothing against that, it's just where she's at. It's a beautiful facility, but mom just needs something smaller to feel like she knows where she's going.

We toured Keelson Harbor for mom. It was good, we learned a lot. It's quite big and very nice. My sister was ready to move in herself. But we don't know yet as far as what mom's going to need; it may be a little big for her. The staff was wonderful to talk to. We were there for like an hour, and she was very good. People were dining at the time. We saw some people, or a couple of residents and it seems they like it there. It's very homey, very clean, and very nice. The apartments were wonderful. They have a lot of crafts and things going on for people. They keep them quite busy, and they're very willing to listen to what your care your person would want to do. They want to hear what they would want to do. They're very good about finding things to keep people busy, things they like. I think it would be great. There was a room, a little shop where they could buy cards, and they could make popcorn. There's a pool table place, and a place for playing cards or playing games, or whatever. It's very nice. There was exercise, it's good.

My mom is moving into Keelson Harbour in Spirit Lake on Monday. I've toured the facility and we chose it because we think it's pretty nice. It's a locked area for memory care so that the residents can't wander away, they also have a lounge for them. They have different activities that go on during the day. They have a nice dining hall and nice places to walk inside. They can also go outside within their locked community. I think it's very clean too.

Keelson Harbour Senior Living's apartments are beautiful. I couldn't have expected anything better. One of the reasons we chose it for my mother-in-law is because there are a lot of activities. The staff is very caring and knowledgeable. My mom moved in and she says the food is delicious, just as good or better than eating out. The dining room is bright, very welcoming, and has plenty of room. They have a nice small library, a great theater room, and a community room that anybody can use.

I toured the memory care area of Vista Prairie at Keelson Harbour and I was very impressed with it. They let me see almost every room, and the people that move in bring in their own furniture and favorite chairs. It's only 20 minutes away from my home. I will be able to go there and take Mom on outings, join her for meals and activities, as well as an Alzheimer's support group. The staff was very nice, there was an activity going in the large community room, and I noticed that they have a different kind of activity every day. This facility is at the top of the list for me.

Vista Prairie at Keelson Harbour was phenomenal. It was very clean, and the apartments and facilities were much bigger than those I've seen in other places. The staff was very accommodating. This would have been my first choice if not for the distance. The dining setup was good, but I didn't like that there were only two meals provided. The activities they provided looked very good.
