The Best Independent Living Communities in Dunn County, WI

"I toured Oakwood Hills, A Sky Active Living Community. I liked the easy, accessible parking. When you walk in the door, it's very neat and clean. There were a lot of people who were collaborating in the dining room. I met right away with Katie. She's a very pleasant person, and she explained what's available as far as amenities, which look good if you consider price-wise, toward what you're getting. It's reasonable if you're using those things because there are community activities and transportation available, and that would be very helpful to me because of the proximity between them and The Mayo Hospital on Whipple Street. You can access the upper rooms either by the stairway or the elevator. The elevators move smoothly and quickly. The rooms and the view are stunning. They take very good care of the facility. There's a central mail station on the main floor. If you can't get to your mailbox, it can be delivered to you. They are pet-friendly. I believe each room has a patio or a balcony, which is nice and gives you the feeling of your own home."

"The Oaks is a very nice community and relatively small as opposed to the other ones with hundreds of units. This only has 37 units, so you're pretty much a member of a community. You're not going to be lost in the crowd like in a large community. It's relatively rural. You look out the back window, and there's nothing but trees and grass. They only serve one mid-day meal. It's as nice as any hotel I've ever stayed in. The people are caring, and it's clean. "

"I'm putting Mom in Grace Willowbrook. It has a lot of the amenities I was looking for. They have the walk-in tubs, a library with large print books, and an on-site physical therapy. They have nice apartments. I didn't eat there, but they're very proud of their chef. They keep inviting me to come eat there. The dining area, the building itself, and the property were really nice. It has a lot of old trees around it, a huge walking path around it, a lot of wildlife, and they have deer and things that come around. I noticed that the staff gets along really well and that they were kind to each other. They also have storage areas besides the apartments. I'm just real happy with the place I found."
