Henry Rehab and Nursing

We got to tour the whole facility of Henry Rehab and Nursing. We looked at their memory care, and we looked at their nursing care. We got to see everything. It was very gloomy. The rooms were pretty small, and they had two people in a room. I understand why, but they were quite tight. It is a very old facility, but I think they're doing very well for what they have. The staff members were fantastic people. They were very informative, answering all our questions and concerns, and anything that we had.

I have had experiences in several nursing/assisted living facilities and in my opinion Henry is above average. The food looked good and the staff was friendly.

Our mother was a resident there for several months before passing, and I would recommend this facility above all others in the area. The care was excellent, kind and caring. The meals were great. Each staff member was friendly from the nursing staff to the kitchen staff. The facility was clean and never had a disagreeable smell. Kitchen staff was always accommodating with food requests. Even though mom did not participate in activities, there were many from bingo, to art, music and church services. We would call the staff daily and all of the nurses were very helpful when providing us information. We loved all of moms nurses, they were wonderful. Her CNAs were also very kind and attentive to her needs.

I think that they provide decent care here. When I stay for a meal it is usually pretty good. They do a lot of different activities to keep the seniors active, like games and movies. I think it's important that they stay social and they are good at keeping them going. I think it's nice that they celebrate all holidays too. There are a few nice common areas too so they don't have to stay cooped up if they don't want to. There are also church services provided by the local priest, which is nice for those that are religious. They rooms aren't too bad, they are on the small side but have everything they need. The rooms are kept relatively clean. The staff for the most part is nice, the only problem I would have is that they sometimes hire in a younger crowd who doesn't seem to care at all. I've overheard some making fun of the residents. I've known five people that have stayed there and nobody had any complaints that I know of. All in all I would say it is a good facility.
