The rooms at Discovery Care Center of Salmon were really nice. I saw a resident getting a massage and some were doing their nails. They had a hairdressing facility and pets that they brought in. The staff was stellar. I walked by at lunch and most of the residents were eating by themselves. It was a good setting for my mother-in-law and very well maintained. They had a nice garden and planting available. The whole courtyard was nice and open with beautiful windows.

My wife is in Discovery Care Center. It's close to home, and she went there after the hospital. I'm happy with everything, the staff is competent and caring, and they have a large rehab staff. They have a movie night, and they do Bingo. The food is adequate, my wife has problems eating, and they try to meet her needs. She's in a 2-person room, but it has adequate space. They're trying to decide if they can keep her after rehab, and they've been more than helpful.

I am living at Discovery Care Center. It has two sides to it: one side is for people that need full nurse care and one for assisted living. My experience is very good. It can’t be better. It has wonderful nurse’s aides. We have only one full nurse over here who oversees everything. Then, we have CNAs nurse’s assistants, and we really like them. They are very helpful. The food is OK, like any institutional food. I moved here two years ago in September.

My father was in the skilled nursing unit in the Discovery Care Center. It was awful. They said they had an Alzheimer’s unit, but they didn’t want to deal with anyone who was non-compliant, had any kind of aggression, or wanders. There were three nurses and aides who did not want to deal with any patient who they couldn’t sit in a chair and walk away from. My father did not fit that criteria, but they called me one night and said, “If you don’t come and get him tonight, we’ll put him in the hospital.”
