We toured Regency At Puakea Retirement & Assisted Living. They were nice. I know some of the residents there, and every one of them said that they like it there because the people there are nice. I was touring it for myself. The apartments were good. They had a nice lanai, and the layout was good. I looked at the two-bedroom place and it was spacious. It had a stove, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. Of course, they provide someone to clean the place, and they have three meals a day. They have a pool and a Jacuzzi on the property, which I like. One side faced the parking lot and the back side faced open grounds. They're really pretty grounds. Their activities and their meals looked good. They had a lot of choices of food. They have like an open salad bar. Plus, they have had a lot of activities. They have a van that will take you out once a week on tour, you can go shopping once a week, and then they also take you to doctor's appointments. The person who worked with us was very accommodating. I keep going back and forth with her about things, and she went out of her way to make sure that all my questions were answered. She gave me all the information that I wanted, so I thought that was good.

My mother is in assisted living at Regency At Puakea. They also have independent living and memory care. She's in a nice and clean one-bedroom. She doesn't participate in much but goes into the dining room for her meals. They have movies, bingo, and local bands that come and play music. The grounds are very clean and beautiful. There's also a swimming pool. I'm very happy with them.

I was in Regency at Puakea. I would stay there forever because my husband and I vacationed there all the time when my husband retired. However, I had to have a surgery and they couldn't do it in the hospital there at that time, so I decided to come back to Arizona. I was at Regency for just a year. Their services were very nice. They would take us down to the beach. The dining room was very nice. It had a lot of windows, so you're looking out over an area that's pretty. Food was fine. Overall, they were very good. They were really good.

We are not considering moving at this time but we possibly will be in the future because my husband is only 70 now and I'm only 65. However, I did get a chance to visit Regency at Puakea. It has a very good reputation. The facility is gorgeous. Their units are a lot bigger than the other facility I saw. Their staff, they are local and they're probably excellent. What I like best about this is that it is centrally located to the main town. It is right across from Costco. We have a very good bus service here, so it is very convenient for the seniors to get around. There is also a great variety of what they provide as far as meals, whatever you may need or want.
