"This facility was a smaller facility located in Homerville, GA. My parents are from there and decided to place her there so they could visit daily with her. The facility is older than some of the facilities that are in the surrounding cities, but it was up to date and extremely clean. The staff there paid close attention to all patients and provided excellent care. They seemed to genuinely care about each patient and did not treat them simply as a job. There were no other facilities that we would have chosen for her to receive care from. "

"My niece is living in a shared room at Lake Erma, and the room looks clean. They help her. She likes it because it wasn’t like a nursing home and she could get out whenever she wanted to and leave. "

"During the first visit that I made to Baptist Village, my grandmother was in the alzheimers unit. The workers were friendly and spoke highly of my grandmother to us. The facility is beautiful and secure. There is a guard at the gate with a friendly demeanor. During the second visit, my grandmother was moved to another unit in which she had a room mate. The room mate did not have dementia and appeared to be sweet. She stated that she liked the facility and told us that our grandmother often calls our names. At the last visit that I had, I was thoroughly impressed by the staff and the facility. There were three things that I was impressed with: The first was when I observed a staff member feeding my grandmother. She was pleasant and loving toward my grandmother, encouraging her to eat as much as she could. The second reason was that while I waited for my grandmother I stood outside a bird cage in the facility listening to the sweet chirps of the birds. It created a peaceful and friendly environment. The third thing that I was impressed with and actually made me teary was when I was in my grandmother's room and there was only one birthday day card on the dresser. It was one from the staff at Baptist Village. Since my grandmother has dementia, my sister and I had stopped sending cards. This gesture by the staff prompted me to begin sending cards and on Mother's day I purchased a card, put a picture in it and sent it to her. "

"My husband is now living at Baptist Village - J. Olan Jones Healthcare Center. The staff is very helpful. My husband is in good care. His anger is showing through, so they have to watch him a little closer, but he's doing okay. And it's been working out okay. He is not happy with the food, but they feed him good meals. He has breakfast, lunch, and supper or dinner. The food is good, but he's just a picky eater. The facility is nice and clean. All of the other residents seem happy there. It's a comfortable place to be. And I'm happy with it. They have a salon. They have a dietician that I see. He's only been there a week, so I'm not familiar with all of it."

"We're leaning towards Baptist Village - The Villas at Waycross for my mother. The tour was very nice and very informative. Everything was clean inside. The staff was very friendly. I felt like my mom would be in good hands there. We toured it for independent living, but we wanted to be able to increase her care as needed. We saw a tennis court, and they had a pavilion there, so the family could come and visit, and there's like a barbecue area. I wasn't paying too much attention to activities, but it looked like they had a social hall. They have an activities director. The staff during the tour was very informative. She showed us all the living situations. She answered any questions we had and talked about things that we didn't think of asking. I liked it."
