Mom was at Gulf Coast Memory Care for two weeks. Everybody who works there was really nice. They tried to keep certain levels of what a person would need separately, like separate dining rooms for different people. So, that was good, but all the activities were always in the same rooms with everybody participating. The food was OK. Not terrible, but it was never warm. It was always cold. I also understand that people with dementia and Alzheimer's can't tell the temperature. So, they don't even know when they're getting sunburned, and the same with food. If they eat something hot, they don't know it, and they can burn themselves. So, it also makes sense to me. The facility was aesthetically very nice. They had all these different rooms where you could go and watch TV. They had meditation rooms, and they had a garden that the people were planting. They had a lot of activities like that. They were always doing something with the group. There were only two main people/nurses that I dealt with, and everybody was very nice. There was one that didn't like her job too much. I could tell, but overall, they all liked what they were doing. They cared about the people. It was the same person that does the activities every day. So, the people who resided there were at least familiar with somebody. It wasn't a different face every day. So, they were always involved. It was the same people doing multiple things. Whether it would be giving them snacks or making popcorn, showing a movie, or having them color or do puzzles. That was interesting to see. They had a lot of people come in and play music and tell jokes, too. Mom's room was nice. They just freshly painted it and got it ready for her. It was large. Although it was one room, she had a living room, a TV, her bed, and a nice big bathroom. The other rooms that I walked into were all clean, well-kept, and very nice.

Due to covid, unable to see our loved one's room to see what else is needed, but the facility has exceeded out expectations. The staff have established a great relationship with the patient.
