"I really liked Regency Park Place at Corvallis. My friend went in as assisted living, but it ended up that she didn't know who she was. She had to have full care, and they did that. They never complained, although they added about $2000 a month. It ended up at about $6000 a month when she required full care. They were good. A lot of people went down to the dining room to dine. There was not a whole lot of activities, but they had activities in the building. They also would take people in their van, get ice cream, and do stuff like that just to get people out. It was all assisted living; however, if you transitioned from assisted living to requiring full care, they were able to do that. The staff was always good. When you have a question, it doesn't just kind of sit somewhere. They address it. I never did try a meal. I saw some of them, and they were fine. It was institutional cooking. When my friend could still go to the dining room, she would eat pretty well and she was a food person, so it wasn't too bad. The facility was clean. They would go in and clean the people's rooms. I know my friend's room was always clean. It never looked grungy. Some activities were for all levels of cognitive skills, and some were for people that were still pretty sharp. I know assisted living is expensive, but my friend could afford it. The value to have a pleasant two and a half years of life there was worth every penny."
