"My mother lives in Town Village Tulsa. They have an in-house visiting nurse agency. The staff is very pleasant. They are protective of their clients, and they have a dining room staff and housekeeping. During Covid, they would find out what their client wanted for meals, then they would deliver it to their rooms. I think they are back to eatng in the dining room. All of their clients have been vaccinated. I did at one point have dinner with my mother. I ate from the salad bar, and it was quite tasty. They have a menu at least in the evening, and I think that my mother is now having lunch instead of dinner. It is really well kept, and it is a 3-story facility. The only thing I would worry about is their disaster planning because a couple of times, they were under a tornado watch. I called my mother, and they had not sounded any kind of alarm. She said sometimes during severe weather, they will ask them to come and stay in the downstairs first floor area. There are a lot of windows, but the hallways do not have windows. They probably could stay in a more protected area. They have self-serve laundry rooms with washers, dryers, and ironing boards on each floor at no cost to clients. They have housekeepers that come in and will change their beds and vacuum for them. Sometimes they have a jewelry sale or clothing sale, and mom would do that. I don't know what they've been doing during the Covid time. I suspect they have not been doing any of those activities, but I look forward to them beginning to implement that again with the recommendations from CDC. It's fairly priced after comparing it with other organizations. They deal with broken elevators a lot. Since they are a 3-floor facility, I think they need to get the elevators to be more reliable. Before Covid, they had a list every week of things to do."

"I went to Montereau the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and took a little bit of a tour. It is in the other side of 71st Street in a very wooded area. They've been up for 10 years. It's very nice, very clean and very well kept. They have four restaurants. They have a spa and a wonderful fitness area. They have a chapel for all faiths. They have a wide variety of activities from painting to games, bridge and billiards. I want to go live there, it's a great place. There are many senior adult couples who live there that one of the spouses is in the Alzheimer memory care place while the other one could enjoy the independent living and I think it would give my father a measure of support. My father's wife has pretty advanced stage of Alzheimer's and he would be in independent living area where she would be in the more highly structured memory care. "

"Go Ye Village was very good and economical, with a very nice people and a good community. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Although the food was good, it wasn’t cuisine, but for what you are getting there, it’s beautiful and healthy food. "

"My mother has pretty much decided to go to Methodist Manor here in Tulsa, and we put down the deposit. There is a waiting list. She just knows more people there than anywhere else in town and feels like she would be most comfortable there. We've been Methodist all of our lives, so most of our Sunday school classmates retired there, and it's right by my mother's house. They've got everything. They have high-end apartments where just the entry fee alone is $140,000, and then you pay rent on top of that, but they're lovely with balconies. They've got independent living bungalows and apartments, they've got assisted living facilities, and they've got places for Alzheimer's dementia patients on the same campus. They've got a heated indoor pool for water aerobics and lots of activities scheduled. It's very secure, there's a guard and a gate, and the facilities are locked. They have a wide food selection every day for every meal. She will either be in assisted living or in the memory unit. She has to be evaluated to determine what level of care she needs. If you're going to be in independent living, it's expensive, but if you're going to assisted living, there is no membership fee, just a monthly rent. If you want to be in their newer high-rise building, it's more expensive. "
