"My sister is in Willows Landing Senior Living. The first couple of years, the directors and the people there were fantastic. They have a new director, and every time I turn around, they're raising her rent. I just got another notice that they're raising her to $15,000 a month. They said it's because she needs more care. They've got people checking on her more often. I can understand that, but not $15,000. If they do extras, that also gets added on. They're always calling me to say that she won't ask for their help. She's always tried to be very, very independent, and they keep hollering at her about not calling when she has to go to the bathroom. She says, "I can do it myself." It seems like it's every couple of weeks they're calling and complaining about something. She's in assisted living, but they talked about putting her in memory care, which is gonna raise the price by another $3000. It's huge. It's three floors. It has elevators. The dining room is on the main level. She's in a wheelchair and can't use her arms to move her wheelchair. She's at the end of the building, and it's a long way to the dining room, which she doesn't go to because it is so far. She has an apartment, and I order her groceries instead. Some of the aides are very, very nice to her. Some of the management just don't seem friendly to her. Two weeks ago, when I walked in, they brought her her breakfast. It was French toast, and it was burnt. I don't think it's really convenient for the seniors. It's so far for them to walk. She's been there a while, and there's been a lot of turnover among the staff, but they've all been pretty nice to her until these management people came. They show a lot of stuff on their schedule."
