"Ive be n a physical rehabilitation patient for almost two weeks and want to say I found the nursing staff here very kind and caring..really nice I am also impressed with the physical and the habilitation people who are consideratw and kind Thw food although sometines spare time s usually very good I recommend this facility."

"I toured Carrington of Shafter. Overall, the staff was overwhelmingly welcoming and gave us a lot of information. The home was an older house, but it had a real homey feeling. All the patients' doors were open and you could see that they had their belongings. And there was a community center where the staff was doing puzzles with them, and they were watching TV. It just seemed like everybody there was at home and comfortable. They were 1-bedrooms in appearance, the size of someone's bedroom. You could either bring your own stuff in, or they provided a bed and a nightstand. But most of them had personal belongings, pictures, they all seem to have TVs and recliner chairs. So it was just their own little area. The place is well kept and very clean. They had a service room for church facilities and Bible study. They had a recreation room that was very large with couches and chairs, tables and chairs for games, a kitchen area, and a TV. It was quite large, and it had windows to the side that have a patio for outdoor visiting. They have an onsite beauty salon and a dining area. And it's also attached to a senior apartment that does not have assisted living, but you get to eat there. So if you're older and you can take care of yourself, there are apartments and then you also get to use any of the facilities there. The dining area was very large, was well lit, and had windows. It looked like there was a piano in there, so maybe people could come and visit. It was a very large spread-out area, so it wasn't compacted, they didn't have the cafeteria filled. It just looked like maybe more of a dining hall."

"My husband was in Valley View Care Center (Browning Manor Convalescent Hospital). It was clean, it's an older facility, seemed like it was kept clean, and looked like they had plenty of staff. Of course with COVID and stuff it got down to we could only go for a half hour at a time, which I understand that's the way it is. The only food he was given was sort of thickened water because he had trouble swallowing. He's lost a lot of weight because he can't swallow well, so they were worried about him choking. The staff seemed all friendly, I just wish the whole staff would have been able to work with him. He's hard of hearing and they had their masks on, and so the communication was really bad. The two ladies we talked to, one was personal, what was in records, and the other was intake, but the communication with those two was not good. My daughter did most of it, doing the phone calls and trying to get the help, and trying to get physical therapy, and I wouldn't recommend it."

"My mother moved into Sage Care Homes. It is a private care home. The workers and the owner are fantastic with their clients. There isn't anything that I don't like. They are attentive, caring, and always willing to work a little harder to make sure their clients are happy. My mom says the food is good. The place is very clean and nice. They play cards, and they play games to keep them active. They take them for walks. They let them dress up on Halloween and give out candies."

"My mom is a resident of Advent Residence Home. It's a nice place. There are only six patients in the home, and it's a good-sized home. There's always someone on staff, and they have home cooking. Some people have their own rooms, and some people share. We've compared them to other places, and they're a little bit more expensive, but she has her private room and bathroom, so they're okay."

"I love Bethany Joy Garden. I love all the people there. My husband is treated extremely well, and I'm happy with him. It's home. I think everybody there is wonderful, and they take great care of him. My husband is not able to do activities, but they offer different stuff for some of the other clients. The dining area is beautiful. The upkeep is excellent. It's clean and nice."

"My dad moved into Paradise Gardens last October. It's a private home, for one thing. It's not an institution. I like the fact that it was homey. It was very warm. It smells good. They have animals. My father loves animals. And so they have dogs and cats that interact with the residents. The staff was very, very welcoming and very warm. It was pretty, and they had a nice backyard. My father has a beautiful, private room, private bath with a beautiful view of the backyard. So it was a nice place. They only have one roll-in shower, and it's actually in someone else's room. It would be nice if all of the showers are roll in, if they put up the money to make them all roll-in showers."

"We chose A Comfort Care Home because they're much more attentive and caring than other larger homes. The appearance of the place is good, it's clean, and comfortable. The food is different, but we're adjusting to it and they're very open to what we want to eat or how we want to eat it. Their facilities are adequate for us."

"The staff at Village Gardens provided wonderful loving care to my mother. The house is beautiful and we found it to be comfortable and peaceful. They even have a little dog that my mom just adored. They served healthy and good tasting food that mom really enjoyed. That was important to us. The strived to provide fun activities, outings, as well as group and individual exercise. They took care of all of moms medications and refills, which made it so easy for me. They helped with arranging and providing transportation to appointments when we weren't able to get mom there. They worked very hard to make holidays special for all the residents. They made moms last birthday beautiful. We will always be grateful for the love and care Village Gardens provided to my mother and our whole family. "

"Bella Vita Senior Living was our second choice. The facility was clean. It was set up nicely for my mom. The staff was informative. The rooms were clean. The backyard was nice and clean. Everything was green."

"My father-in-law is in Arcadia Gardens, and he has dementia. He has only been there two weeks. He likes the food, and he eats 100% of all of his meals. They are very attentive and take very good care of him. It's a beautiful clean house. We chose it because of its location and the staff; it also fit into our budget. "

"Their rooms are really clean and tidy! Some of them are really spacious and nice! They are mostly a home setting, so it's like being taken care of at our own home 24 hours a day. I noticed they're very patient and caring people. Even when they're busy, they take the time to listen to our requests and needs. And they do their best to prioritize our family and decide what's best for my grandmother given the circumstances. When my grandmother was suffering from a bad flu, they immediately let us know and were able to clearly communicate how she was doing and showed their concerns and advised us on what to do. I got to say, if it weren't for their help, I doubt my grandmother would have recovered. When my grandmother was there, I noticed that the residents like to play bingo sometimes and that the staff would also help them with some daily exercises. I strongly recommend this facility for anyone wanting compassionate and experienced people!"

"Brighton Manor was way out of my price range. The staff was nice. They had a nice TV room and stuff like that. It was pretty nice. The rooms were smaller than the other, but price-wise, compared to the other, they are substantially higher for what it was. The rooms were nice because they had their pictures and their names on the outside of the room so they could find their rooms easier."

"I've been to Kern River Transitional Care and I liked that place. It's a skilled nursing facility and my sister was there for a short time after surgery. They were very nice. The staff was very nice to my sister and they're also very helpful. The food was great and there was a lot of food. They're very informative too. Their rooms were very nice and clean. The part I went to was more of a hospital setting since it was skilled nursing. She was in her room, but a lot of people were also outside either dining in or on the patio outside. "
