I visited Avalon San Andreas and was extremely impressed with the entire atmosphere there, the staff were so friendly and treat the residents like family. The staff were also very helpful and professional. The therapy department was excellent. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone in need of short term rehab or long term care.

Avalon San Andreas is a wonderful place, the staff are excellent, they treat you like family. The therapy is great, they had me up and going and back home in no time! I highly recommend this facility. It is the best around! I would definitely go back here if I needed their services in the future. The staff are so caring and attentive to all of your needs.

I visited a family member at this facility recently and must say that the friendly environment and communication between staff was outstanding. I honestly felt that the staff cared about what was best for my family member and that they had a plan and goals in place to help him return home and succeed. The therapy was outstanding and the local feeling was a relief. I'm happy to say that I had a very positive experience.

1 star for the therapists and the few caring people who work there I was sent there for just therapy and spent 6 1/2 hellish days with them. WOULD NEVER WANT THIS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE !!!! WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE, Bad and very slow service, Food was cold, spicy, sugary and a lot of times unfit to eat.. LOUD BUZZERS AND PATIENTS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT,SO NEVER GOT A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP.. PLEASE THINK BEFORE SENDING A LOVED ONE HERE.

We've done some ministry work in St. Mark, the staff was nice, and they had a lot of activities. They have a small solarium, and it was not very attractive. It was too much like a hospital. The dining area was very nice. They have exercise, bible study, and physical therapy. They have Bingo, art class, and crafts.

The physical therapy of Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital is outstanding. The food is not bad, and the place is pretty clean. It has 3 wings for 3 different levels which makes it nice. The Angel Wing is just for temporary patients like me. My room is very spacious and very clean.

I visited this Convalescent Hospital today. I have been to many and have grown up going to them since I was small visiting with church and singing when I was young and in school. I have never smelled anything as horrible as the pungent pee smell that attacked me when I walked in today. Buzzers went off down across the hall about every 5 minutes (the same lady kept hitting her button which was so loud, great song "you are my sunshine" but non the less, very disturbing. I could not imagine resting through that. My husbands grandfather was beginning to get a bed soar so they had him on a blow up mattress. I was a bit surprised by that. Anyhow, this was very discouraging. I am grateful I did not bring my 6 year old to visit her Great Grandfather in this Convalescent Hospital.

Last December I accompanied a friend visiting her uncle, a patient at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital. I dreaded the trip, expecting a gloomy and morbid atmosphere in such a place. I was pleasantly surprised to find the place warm, cheerful, and well lit. The staff was friendly, and extremely attentive to the patients. The entire place was very clean and pleasant smelling. Most of the patients I encountered were actually smiling. They even had holiday decorations including a large tree in the visiting area. Overall, it felt more like a big family home than a cold facility. One thing that really surprised me was the dogs. Several small, very friendly dogs wearing holiday sweaters were wandering around. They were sweet and friendly to both patients and visitors. I was very impressed, and relived that the trip was much more pleasant than expected. If I ever have to enter such a facility, I hope it is this one.
