My aunt has moved into Antioch Family and Senior Apartments. The price point was the primary driver. She was looking for independent living, not care, and a lot of the senior facilities were upwards of $3,000 to $4,000 a month for a one-bedroom. For this particular community, I think it's only like $1,500 a month for a one-bedroom and it's a brand new community. She's familiar with the area because we have family within 20 minutes from the area itself. The person who runs the senior home is lovely, very helpful, very supportive, and very responsive. Great staff overall. Every month, they send out a newsletter with their activities. The only thing that's ongoing weekly is bingo and they have social workers there to help the seniors with whatever they need as far as understanding health insurance and how to set up car insurance. They'll have specialty events depending on the month. They're having a Halloween party this month and some arts and crafts. They have happy hour. The only thing I don't like about the facility is, that they have a lot of people moving in, and so the trash can is not emptied multiple times a week, but I think that's just because everyone's moving in. It's a brand new building so that probably will go away once the residents are settled. There are opportunities for them to improve. They only have to pay up to 30% of their income no matter what their income is, so it fluctuates. Some people are paying 15%, some people are paying $1000.

Antioch Family and Senior Apartments was a nice development. The seniors are separate from the regular family units, which makes it good. So you don't have to be concerned about kids playing or being disturbed by dancing people. The staff members were good and very pleasant. The apartments were pretty new. They had stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and a patio. The rooms were standard and had easy access. The atmosphere was very nice, professional, clean, and welcoming. They had a gym and a couple of pools. They have a community area.
