"Our visit was really good. The facility was like a hotel. It was so nice. It has several options that you could do like they had the exercise and they even had an indoor pool. They had an arts and crafts space. They had everything. The rooms were nice. You had to furnish them, but it was like a new room and it had a nice kitchen area. The people were nice and seemed to have a lot to do if you could do it or you didn't have to. There are things available. I had a cookie there and it was good. The staff was very friendly and everybody seemed to be very knowledgeable about the facility."

"My mother-in-law is a resident of The Season's of Talladega Assisted Living. It's a good place. My mother-in-law is happy, so I'm happy. They help with medication and bathing. They're good people. I haven't had any problem with anybody. She didn't complain about the food, so that's good enough for me. She loved to watch Little House on the Prairie, and they played bingo. My mother-in-law has no complaints. I don't hear any complaints, which tells me they're doing a good job all the way around. She has a big room, and she has her own bathroom and shower. She got her bed and La-Z-Boy chair. She has her own TV and stuff in the room. So, she's comfortable. It's worth what she's paying for."

"I'm going to put my mother into Sunset Inn. We chose it because she lived in Talladega her whole life and a lot of people she knows live there already. They're reasonably priced and they offered things that are good for her. You could have a nice sized room and you could bring your personal things. There's no shower in the bathrooms, which I consider a positive because mom is a fall risk. They have nurses to take your loved one down to the showers and monitor them. It's all-inclusive and it has a hometown feel to it. You get up and go eat three times a day in the dining room and you can come in your pajamas before 12:00. After 12:00, they want you dressed. They set goals and keep them active. They're also small-pet friendly. Mom will have her own unit and she can still leave and come back, but she has that security of having full-time care and someone to check up on her. The coordinator has been very friendly, very helpful, following up, and working to help me financially to get my mom in. It's a clean facility and they do laundry. They have bingo, dominos, makeup classes, transportation, salon, and church services."

"The food at Spring Terrace Assisted Living was good. The rooms were nice and big. My aunt had a private bathroom. She was very comfortable there. The staff was very nice. However, they're not quite as accommodating. The person needs to fit the institution instead of the other way around. They're a little more institutionalized and have more rules that they're pretty strict about. She lived there for about three weeks. She got in trouble there. They're not as accommodating, but I understand. I'm not angry about it or anything. She did something and they didn't like it and she got put in the geriatric psych unit. They weren't dirty, just certain areas were not as clean as they could have been. They have a pond out front. It's very reasonably priced."

"My dad is currently at Oak Circle Assisted Living. It is homey, there is only 16 rooms and it is a family-owned business. It is nice and small. The staff are nice and very accommodating. He likes to have a certain kind of breakfast and they're fixing it for him. He likes fried eggs and they're giving him fried eggs. The room is a little bit smaller than where he was at before but I think it is probably tough for him to get around now, so that is even better for him. It is a small place. The dining room is nice and the kitchen looks large homey. There is a place to go out and watch television, like a gathering area, where they do puzzles. Everything else is just like a straight line with 8 rooms on one side and 8 on the other."

"My dad was a resident. The staff there was great. They were very involved, helping him a lot by bringing him meals, and helping him get dressed. The layout is gorgeous inside. When you walk in, there are fireplaces, and they always decorate, making it look like a place you'd want to go on vacation. It looks like a chalet. We had several meals with him, and they offered a lot of fresh options, including different dietary choices like kosher meals. The food wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad either. They have a lot of activities, but my dad wasn't very involved or interested in them. They had music, and I looked at their calendar, it just seemed like there were so many great things going on."
