We have already put my sister into Meadows Assisted Living. The care is very good. No complaints. The staff members are first rate. My sister's room is kept clean. They have daily activities in the afternoon. There are people who come in to entertain and play games in addition to what they do themselves. It is all very good. I wouldn't want to change to another place. The food is very good. I have eaten there a few times, and there is not enough for me, but it is enough for them. They have common rooms in addition to the dining room.

I am a friend or relative of a resident
The facility andamenities are great. My grandmother keeps her hair did she can interact with her family and friends at any time, The staff is kind and cordial with everyone. It is not a large overcrowded area less than 20 people are there at a time. It is so great that there is a medical staff on call and that the patients get to interact with children especially on holidays. There are private bedrooms from that of a nursing home by how the facility is set up and how individuals are individual and get the assistance they need instead of being treated like a invalid. All the members have access to Activities Program, Beauty Salon or Barber, Community Room, Game Room, Games and Garden. No one is treated like they are broken down or not needed instead life is promoted and everyone is active and vocal in their wants and needs. When I visit my grandmother she loves to go out and talk about the holidays. She loves to play various games like checkers and chess and she is more mobile than she was before.

I visited this facility
This facility is located in a small community in Brewton, Al. It has the capacity to hold around 16-20 individuals. It provides very personal, one on one with the residents. The facility appears to be designed for comfort. The residents enjoy a resemblance of freedom and treat each other as family. The residents are allowed time alone and private bedroom facilities. The residents there are sociable and enjoy group activities as well. Family is greeted by a friendly staff and are welcome at any time. The facility does not appear to be equipped to handle cases in which the relative would need constant supervision, or medical care, however. There is staff available 24 hours and medical doctors on call. The residents can be seen on a dailiy basis enjoying time outside in the rocking chairs situated outside on the front porch. During the holidays, the residents who wish to share in the experience are directly involved with decorating and with the celebrations. The facility is located in the designated area for the community to trick or treat and the residents seem to take enjoyment from participation in this activity with the children. In conclusion, the Meadows seem to be a great alternative to a traditional nursing facility for those who need only a little assistance.
