My mom is receiving care from Amedisys Hospice Care. They do home health, but they also do hospice. She has a bath aide that comes in, and the nurse comes twice a week. It could be three times a week, but I think that's too much for her skin. They also have volunteers. Actually, I have a volunteer who should be coming tomorrow and possibly the chaplain, too. I'm pleased with their service. I have had them since last August of last year. It's possible to have the same caregiver every time, but it doesn't always work that way. Sometimes someone is sick, or there's an emergency, and there is turnover. Nevertheless, I've never had anyone whom I was displeased with. They have taken blood, and with the hospice service, they can do medications, but it's mostly for comfort. I've never had any problems when I contact them. Usually, I hear something really quickly. I've not had to contact them much, but they'll contact me also to find out if I need any supplies like gloves, pads, pull-ups, and other comfort items.
