I like that I reach a human being when I call and they are nice on the phone. They have been there when I needed to take care of anything that was on my mind.

I like their responsiveness and I think the quality of their workers is excellent. The provider has helped by helping in every single way and helping my husband get around in ways I can't do.

I like that they are easy to contact and prompt to respond. They could improve the matching of the caregivers, because my husband was a physician before his Parkinson's, and we just have not been able to find him a good match. I value the desire of the caregivers to be in this line of work because I know it is difficult, but I don't want to rate the agency solely based on the matching of the caregiver and the client. The services we received from Home Instead in New York allowed us to take the caregiver with us to appointments, and the caregiver was able to help us get in and out of the vehicle safely, but here in Jersey, it is my understanding that we can't have our caregiver come with us because she can't ride in our vehicle. I had to take Jeffery to an appointment, and because I wanted her assistance, we needed to take two vehicles. I needed to pay her tolls and parking. It was just a lot to orchestrate. So even if I want to take Jeffery to the grocery store, we need to take two vehicles, and that limits his ability to get out of the home because I can't carry his wheelchair in and out of the vehicle; I need assistance.

They can improve on how they interact with me, more with the caregiver rather than the office staff. They have provided a caregiver who is really good for me and fits well.

I can't compare it to anything else. The caregivers come on time and do their jobs. In the beginning, she was taking me to the doctors and everything else. She was doing laundry for me. Now a few days, I started doing the driving for myself. There was a little damage to my car that was there by accident from issues with the front bricks scratching the paint.

I like that they are very responsive. They act quickly if you have something arise. I have recommended them to friends. I really needed someone to help me with some daily tasks. They have been there for that.

I would like to see more consistency with the home health aide. Once we get used to a home health aide, they assign her to someone else. We have to train them all over again. They could make my life easier if the aides were allowed to do more. We have to move Judy with the Hoyer lift, if they can place a sling by themselves or move the Hoyer lift so all I have to do is make sure that she is safe, that would be useful. Also, if they could do manual transfers.
