"I used San Diego Compassionate Caregivers for my husband because he has dementia, and I had to go into the hospital. So, they came in, took care of him, cleaned him up, fed him, and put him to bed. They did all day care for him. They were very good. When they came out to interview me, they got me someone to come and take care of them quicker than anybody else because they interviewed three different companies, and they were the quickest ones to get me someone. So, I was really happy with that. The caregiver was wonderful and very professional. The staffing was OK, but the only bad thing was that I couldn't use my credit card. I had to mail them a check. They take credit cards, but they charge a lot extra for that. So, the payment process wasn't so great. I had to mail in the check. I was in the hospital, and it went out late because I called them, and I said it had to go late because I couldn't get home to write the check, and I had to find the stamp, which was a little difficult. They can make that a little easier, but other than that, I'd give them high marks because they were really good and very accommodating."

"The first thing I didn't like about Affirmative Home Care was I tried to pay them upfront and they were upset by that, so I stopped that. The second thing was that they would confirm and schedule a caregiver and they would not send the caregiver, or they would send an alternate one that I was not expecting. At one point, they gave me a name of someone that was not working for them, and I did speak to a supervisor regarding that. The caregivers were just fair. Most of them were trustworthy, but as far as the skills and their initiative to do things, I wasn't very pleased. As a companion however they were great."
