We've used A Hand at Home before, and I have enlisted them again. They're OK and pretty much the only ones in town. The owner tries, but it's very limited at this point. We use them for meals a couple of times a week. The caregiver is good but not always as thorough as they can be. They could have a little more training, but overall they're very good, very kind, and very caring. My father had a colostomy, so they came in and changed his bag and did cooking and dishes, but they didn't do housekeeping. I would prefer that they did a little bit more or took the initiative to do so.

A Hand at Home is great! The caregivers all live in Tahoe. None of that “can't make it over the pass” talk. The owner comes to the house to check up on things regularly. Very approachable and responsive. Carol is our regular helper, we love her!

We love the caregivers from A Hand at Home! They are so kind, patient and professional. My husband and I started with them 4 years ago when he when he was first diagnosed with Alz. just a a few hours a week. Now they help out every morning bathing, dressing, and making breakfast then come back in the evening and help with dinner and bed time. I couldn't make it with out them.

A Hand at Home took great care of our Aunt Helmi who suffered memory loss and the effects of old age from 2014 to 2016 at her house in South Lake Tahoe. A Hand at Home and all care givers were very professional, personal and warm. The entire team was always available for us for any extra request and questions we had, and they responded extremely fast. The team felt like an extended Family who were taking care of their own. They were always making sure that Helmi’s life was as enjoyable as possible even during the difficult times. All customized care we asked for was followed: like cooking, cleaning, showering, dressing, driving to Dr. appointments, medicine reminders, going out for nice lunches at her favorite restaurant, walking her dog Buddy, grocery shopping and 24/7 care during the final stages of her life. We strongly recommend a Hand at home to any families who need professional care to help their loved ones.
