I toured Our House Senior Living - Richland Center Memory Care. They have a good director who understands dementia very well. That's one of the strengths of the place. I also like the fact that they have showers in the rooms, so the residents don't have to go to a common shower area. Outside of the director, I'm not sure I can say a whole lot about the other staff. Just my observation is that they were interacting with the residents and things were operating rather smoothly as I thought. They have their own bathrooms which include the shower. The rooms are fairly good sized compared to some places. It seems to be a positive atmosphere that we saw while we were there. The dining area looked fine. They had an outside area that was fenced in where people could go outside in the summertime.

Our beautiful Memory Care residence in Richland Center provides dignified, quality care for seniors who can no longer live alone because of dementia and other forms of memory loss. Our programs are designed to help those with cognitive needs providing a safe, nurturing and secure home environment. We provide 24-hour staff, medication management, three healthy meals a day (plus snacks) and provide the necessary help with dressing, grooming, and bathing. I checked out Our House and I was really impressed with their memory care unit. It didn't feel or look like a memory care unit. It was very nice, very clean and cheerful. I was impressed with the facility and the staff. The people were very friendly and they seemed to have a lot of freedom but that was far as assisted living. My impression was very positive.
